Poor 11/06/2010 Item ID: 653717 80" Bob Holman FW190 Dora
Comments:  I bought this FW190 with the intentions of dropping in my engine and receiver and go fly. The seller sent me a tracking # which couldn’t be tracked and this was a problem. He claimed his town didn’t have computer tracking #’s. A week after filing a dispute with paypal after waiting weeks, the seller sent the item in what looked like a good crate and it was but the seller places the plane on the weakest part of the glass fuse, placing a brace just under the wing saddle with no support to protect it and it cracked the wing saddle and the fuse. The wings were places in the box fairly decent but they too had no protection from all the major scratches caused by packing, not shipping. There was damage in areas that the seller claimed were due to shipping but this is impossible as the areas that were broken in places that couldn’t be contacted by the box or been crushed as the wing was floating centered in the box. No signs of broken parts were in the box that was supposedly broken in shipping. After communicating the issues with the seller, he stated that this was no real problem and brushed it off since I was a good builder and then told me to consider those areas “weathering”. Then demanded the shipping fees back as he felt this wasn’t his problem. All of the damages occurred prior to shipping as pieces of the wing are missing; the wing has tons of scratches where he failed to protect the wing prior to placing it into the box. Also the control surfaces bind preventing you from getting full throws per the specs and there’s no way to repair the complications without doing severe surgery to the aircraft which was not part of the deal. I personally didn’t feel comfortable flying the bird as it was and didn’t have the time to do repairs, that’s why I bought what I thought was a plane ready to fly less engine. I asked to send the item back but the seller decided to fight me on it. I was told that I should have asked … How do you figure this? When you say it’s ready to fly less engine with no damage, you ensure the buyer that you did the right things in order to do so. Why should I have to ask if you built it per the specs? Based on this transaction, I’ve decided to not buy another built item from any site without asking a ton of extra questions and getting many up close pictures and have also come up with a questionnaire for other buyers to prevent just these kinds of transactions. The seller claims he’s done these kinds of transactions many times and has had no complications in the past. Check his feedbacks he says.. We’ll what about the ones that went bad that no one posted on for fear of retaliation (as I was threatened by). In all the complications with this transaction, all the seller was concerned with was his feedback. He wasn't concerned with the damaged item he sent at all or customer relations making the situation better for me as I had no intentions of having to do anymore then installing the engine, make a few adjustments and go fly. I sent the item back and to make matters worse, it got lost (so they say). I think that he’s got it and since the greyhound in his city isn’t equipped with the proper tools to track the item, I believe that it was picked up and he’s playing the lost game! Either way he wins both ways! That’s ok though.. ever hear of karma? He even went out of his way prior to this to leave me a nasty feedback stating that I was a fraud and had other accounts that I dropped to prevent being noticed like I have something to hide.. Thank you RCU admin for correcting him! He’ll go out of his way to make himself seem like a victim…CAUTION. I’m sure I’ll get a negative feedback in return but it’s ok as long as I publicize the facts on Mr. Willis. Besides, as the buyer, what could I have done wrong? I paid the day I said through Paypal, that same day! Seriously.. How do you lose a big white box thats almost 7' long and 3" square. Ben, I wish you the best because with your kind of dishonesty, you're going to need it.
