RE: Was ist das, another Stik?
It's been a year today since the last post on this thread. So what happened with the Tripe? A Tripe Stik would complete my collection of Stiks so I'd sure like to get some plans if they're available.

I guess I forgot about this one. Here's the plan so far. I think the airfoil might be too thick though.

Does that mean your going to finish up the plan anytime soon? Have you determined the ws & fuselage length yet? Are there plans available for the Black Sheep Tripe? I really super like the looks of that one big time.

Hmmmm... I've got little version of that DNU bipe plan already tacked to the cork board by my bench. Someday there will be a parasol monoplane Das Not D-VIII Stik! It will be somewhere lower on the "to build" list than the .020 R/0 DNU Bipe I thought about two years ago.

RE: Was ist das, another Stik?
Hey guys! I started building mine two nights ago! So far I have the fuse almost complete (still need to buy a tank, make push rods, and finish sheeting the bottom.) The stab. and fin are hinged and glued on, and all of the wing ribs are cut! I will post some pics tomorrow if I get a chance. This is my first scratch build, and MAN is it neat! Building a kit is fun, but it seems so much more rewarding when you have to build your kit to build your plane! I'm opting to leave the landing gear off and go full house 4ch. for hand launch flying. Do you really recommend the Norvy 074 for power? I was holding it up next to my Herr Extra and GP electric Fokker D7, and it looks quite a bit smaller than them. I'm thinking more like an 061 or similar. Either way, I hope to get the wings done this weekend so I can get to covering next week! -Craig

RE: Was ist das, another Stik?
Just an update... My Ol' Lady volunteered me to do a sheet rock job for one of her friends, so I lost a bit of build time before she went on vacation. (with my camera!) The fuse is now complete, with the acception of about half of the covering, and the top and bottom wings are now built with the top wing covered and ready to bolt on. I did a small modification and built the bottom wing to be held on with rubber bands. [:@](NOTE: Do NOT forget and glue on center sheeting before you glue in blocks to hold wing dowel pins...) I was worried about over powering it with an .074 earlier, but I think I may try my new OS .15la...it just looks good on the nose! I will post pics after Labor Day when the boss gets back from Florida. -Craig

Hah! I wish he could, but believe it or not...he can crash em' even better than me! Thanks for the comments! Derrick (my 4 year old son in the pictures) picked out the color, so don't pick on me because it's florescent pink... dDo you have any recommendations for control throws for the first flight? I hope to have my motor mount by this weekend, and possibly a test flight for next weekend if I'm around... -Craig
