Duke, leave the surestart where it is and build a delta! Well, Tim says they are the same cylinder now, but the KB's that I have are different. The unmodified one is a real powerhouse with a 4.2x4 and a sleek airframe. I haven't really tried the larger props, but the instructions said not to use too much load. The recommended RPM is 22k static! The modified one turns just a little more...

And how could any Rembrant painting be wore 30 million, or a 57 chevy over a hundred thousand, or a baseball card worth a hundred, after all the card is just paper that probably only cost 2 cents to make and came in a pack of bubble gum.. The world more often than we care to know about makes little or no sence. But, it sure is fun.

Patrick, Duke,
I stand corrected I think the current KB does have the cylinder with the wider bottom slit still, but the bypass porting is the same with the Sure Starts.

Tim

Iv'e been building kits since the early 70's, built my first when I was 10 years old. It was a gulliows PA-18 Super Cub. Have you checked out at what some of the old controlline models go for, Heck I Could build one for 10 Bucks. We used to take wood fruit crates and make profile controlline planes, Cox .049, Walker U-Reely, you where in business. I don't miss the days of good old "Die Crunch", you might as well scratch built the kit from the get-go. I wish I still had some of the plans for them, I'm bad to cut plans appart

Awesome web-site, It Sure brings back memories, expecially the combat models. I built a Combat Cat A few years ago, I couldn't believe how dizzy I Got. I didn't remember how fast those suckers went.

RE: Wow More Ebay Wierdness
I remember getting into a bidding 'war' over a couple of planes, luckily I came to my senses on most, but ended up paying $375 for a little biplane, that after having built and flown it, was one of the WORST flying planes I ever owned. I learned my lesson on that one... But it sure looked pretty hanging in the garage.
Ebay can be quite fun, but I've officially given up on it. There's too many 'collectors' out there with more willing and deeper pockets than I.

There are a lot of collectors out there who are not afraid to win the bid no matter how high.
I am a serious collector of old kits and I for the most part stay away from auctions and find kits on modeling sites and on line classifieds.
I have over 50 of the Japanese kits from after WW2 most are the multi engine kits When the day comes my wife should be able to sell these I consider my collection as a type of life insurance seems the values of the old kits keeps going up.
Who ever thought that a 1953 Enya 29 with the airfoil shaped exhaust would ever be worth more than 10.00 bucks now a new in the box engine with all the paper work and tissue it was packed in brings well over 150.00-
The day is gone for the most part where BIY kits are plentiful the ARF planes have really put a damper on the real kit.
It is a buyers world out there people will always be willing to pay a high price for things they want and especially the bidding frenzy of a auction
