Howdie gents. I'm hopeing to make the kits for the airplanes not the jig. but one never knows what tomarrow will bring. I put all the parts (servoes ,battery, eng, and the wood to finsh it) on the scale and it came out at 335 grams. 10 1/2 oz. I hope it will come in at 13oz. Do you think the killer bee will pull it o.k? I'm going to order a .061 and elc motor. HKBII.

Howdie gents. Thats a cool looking jet,Ilike it. I was looking throu World air power volm 26 last night and came apon a pic of the soko g-2A galebs and the ij-21 jastrebs. I've been thinking of trying one, thinking about the .18 with the pull start I saw in a f86. I have to find who makes this eng, Its not 1/2A but its not elc, ether. Well I put two coats of aro dope on rattle today, I'm going to cover her with polyester fabric. then paint her. still working out the color scheme. Thanks for the pic. hkbii.

Howdi gents. Sorry for the delay, I didnt fall off the planet but I could look over the ege. Well I"m on my feet agin, A little wobly but moveing forward. I got rattle finshed. I"ll have to wait a littel bit longer to test fly her. (when my hands stop shaking). I didnt go with the paint. I used some iron on covering. She came out at 15 oz. I think it will fly allright. I"m in negotiations with investers to kit some of my designs. I think they should be ready to ship by the end of june. Well heres a pic.

Howdie gents, I realy whanted to paint rattle but had a bad reaction to the fumes. thats why I had to cover it with iron -on covering. It was just to cold to open doors for good ventalion. I may paint one this summer. Starting to set up a small factory. I"m building the assambely stations. big work tables and drafting table, Its coming along nicely. I'll be putting in the lunch counters this week. Well heres a shot of the bottom of rattel. I whanted to have some yellow on the leading eage. Eyes are not as good these days. That crome becomes what ever color its next to, but I think its cool. Hkbii.

Howdie gents. Well it finley happend. She flew!! After weeks of waiting for every thing to line up ( some one to shoot viedo, the weather and time ) I finely said forget it and whent out by me shelf. I fired her up and set her free, she rolled about 20 feet and then the tail came up an other 25 feet to get air speed and then just a touch of elv and she lifted off so sweet I found my slef giggeling like a littel kid,she banked just a little to the right , I let her clime out and pick up speed. She needed one click left aleron and two clicks down elv. Top speed was 45-50 mph. She is very responsive to all comands. shure glad I set up the dule rates. She held tight turns very nice. did a few 30 foot loops , any biger and she would fall out at the top. On low rates rolls where just right (for me) on high she spun like an arrow. When the eng started to spuder I climed till it quit, was up about 200 ft . I feed in up elv, till she staled, she seemed to hang there for ever (3-5 mph breese) then droped her nose and fell about 20 ft and when I pulled up elv, she came right back on the wing. she glided four about 50 sec and lost very littel alt, I took her to the end of the filed, put her into a dive(about 100 ft) pulled out at ten ft and she whent clear over four scocer fileds and then came in smooth as silk. I just love it when it works. Well I got the new factory done and started to make the jigs to cut the kits. Then the money mongers turned on each other. So I pulled the plug. I now have full control of my designs, no one is going tell me what I can and cant do with them. I have started setting up in my littel shop and will cut some kits from here. will keep you all posted. heres a pic after the maiden flight. hkbii.

Howdi gents. .I got in a few more flights. I checked the aoa on the wing tips and one was off about a 1\2 deg. thats why she needed the trim.I replaced the balloon tank with a sulavan 1.oz tank and that changed the balance so the down trim was removed. I was looking at putting the cox .09 on her (for more power and throtle) but it was just to big. On the fifth flight the .049 sweetend up. I got the eng in a box of stuff in a trade and did not know it was not broken in yet. Man did it ever make a difference , she now gets up and moves out. I removed the wing tips to she how she would fly. Wow .... the wig tips where like shock absorbers, they smoothed out the comand in puts. With out them, high rates where way to much and the low rates gave her very crisp responce and the top speed whent way up. The eng pulling harder helped a lot. I wonder how many of these small eng never got ran long enough to get broken in. (maybe why they get such a bad rap.) I like the way that she flyes. Now I have to get an eng with a throttel to explore the slow flight handeling. With a throttel I'm sure that she could do a full pattern routine. I think I'll remove the landing gear next time up. Hkbii.

MJD, I think airfoils matter, too. From flying free flight I know there's no question that some produce better lift than others. Besides, I love looking at airfoils and cutting out ribs, so for those reasons they're important to me. I've actually built certain models solely because I thought the airfoil was cool.

But, then somebody like this designer comes along and makes a wing that flies well, in spite of aerodynamic theory. Oh well.
That kind of wing building has worked well on a ton o spads.

Howdie gent. I'm sorry if I misspell some things. I am very dyslexic. I can get most of the letters in a word but they're not allways in the right order. I have done more writeing on this fourm than I have on any thing eles in my life. I desided that I was not going to let it stop me from joining in .So I apologize if its hard to follow me at times. hkbii.
