I need some machining help
Hi. Who here in NC has a good drill press or a mill and can drill two holes in a crankcase for me? I'll pay for the service, of course. I'm asking here because this forum seems to have the most machinists who live in NC. So, I'm sorry it's not a true 1/2A thread.
I got an old Enya .60 III and a new muffler from Enya. Ken Enya wrote to me and explained that I'll need to drill two holes in the case. Obviously these holes can't be done by hand and I don't own a drill press.
I've included some photos of other cases before and after the holes have been drilled to show what I need done. Can someone here do this for me? It seems like a fairly easy job.
Thanks,
David

Thanks, Patrick.
I should add that the muffler is the part that's tapped. So, there can be some tolerance with the holes since the bolts simply pass through the case and thread into the muffler. It seems like the real critical part is getting the holes perpendicular to the machined face of the exhaust port so that the muffler's face will seat properly against the port.

RD - If'n Pat or Tim can't help you out... send it on out West. I LUV drillin' on ol' engines... for free even. ( I do stuff like this at work all the time... long as I can disguise it as manufacturing tooling [8D]. In fact, seein' what you can do with Balsa... I'm surprised you can't drill and tap your own holes (but you're saying... Todd... balsa is just like aluminum... how hard can it be...
