Default Mini Revo dies please help

I was driving my mini revo in the woods with 2 nimh packs in parrell and it sudily dies. The fan keeps spinning and the light on the speed controller do not light. I switched to one battery and still the same, then just the other battery and still fan only. Nothing was hot, I was not driving it very hard. I let it sit for 10 minutes to completely cool and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

It is the speed control that came with it. I did not know you can set it. I have used it for about 20 packs with out any trouble so far. How do I check?
