Better servo for Mini E Revo 1/16th merv
I am on my second servo in 2 weeks and I was wondering while I was replacing my plastic gears today if there is a better servo for the mini revo? Anyone else have idea's. One got fried and the other ate the gears, so i used the gears from the fried one to fix the other. Would 2 be better or is there another answer?

Two make sure you dont tighten the servo saver too tight... if you are stripping gears, two wouldn't help.... you could add another for quicker response, but they can still strip when you hit immovable things with your front tires...

There are actually a few metal gear options that are far better than the stock servo included with the kit , excluding the waterproofing part, You have the hitech hs82mg, aswell as the Hitec hs85mg+ (With Ball bearings). and the KO propo 3101 Servo.

All of these servos are a direct bolt in.

Alright I was waiting for my stock servo to go before I bought new ones. The gears went but I had some in a fried servo so I swapped them out then last night the servo fried again and I was not even hitting stuff! I'll give the hitechs a shot and post my findings.

should I be using a voltage regulator? The first one I fried was on 2 2s in paralell and the second time it was on a 3s.

hope it's Ok to bring back this thread, I had similar servo stripping problems with my MERV when it was new, replaced the first set of gears and loosened the saver up a little, been great since, over a year now... stock servo, 5 min fix, no $ , no parts, wrench came with the truck...
video is uploading to youtube now... check out my little channel (like 4 vids so far...LOL) on the Tube im axelsfolks....
neighbor just got 2x mini Summits at Christmas time, one of them went through 2 sets of servo gears in just a few days, showed him this trick and hope he'll have better luck now... funny, the kid's truck was ok, the adult's truck was the one breaking, both haven't even seen 100% power mode yet... You figure..LOL
