dstak's Merv Build
My merv build I thought I share, still in the process!! Here it is from the traxxas thread...
At the last moment decided to do a low kv, high (v) efficient setup
Starting the build Here is what it will consist of!
Merv roller of ebay $120
MM Pro $ Priceless
Tacon motor $37
Tbone Chassis kit $39
Rit dye $ Priceless
Lipos $27
body ?
Radio- haven't decided
Wheels havent decided
Will update consistently
06-25-2011 11:35 PM:
So i ordered these things so far
Hobbico CS 35mg
HPI SS wheels
Proline dirt hawgs
28t 48p pinion
$69 bucks
06-26-2011 04:40 PM
Well I ordered:
G Force 2200mah 3s 20c batteries for a $11 a peice!
A body
Tacon 2600kv motor 380L ! 12 bucks to ship what a rip off
Ordered tbone skids.
06-27-2011 03:00 PM
Received my roller, only thing I don't like are the shocks so far
So for everything I ordered so far I'm looking at
$321 - $130 from my crawler = $191 for my rtr merv thats better then a traxxas rtr
Still have stuff on the way will update and get pics up of everything I do :tire:
Thanks for looking
UPDATE: 6/29/2011
Received batteries and body check it out! Just wondering if I should dye the grey parts still???

RE: dstak's Merv Build
Very nice! Looking good! Can't wait to see the finished version.
Starting with a roller is nice because one you can save money and two, you can set it up the way you want. I did the same thing a while back. Got a roller off of ebay for cheap and put all of the stock electronics from my merv in it to make my son his own merv.

RE: dstak's Merv Build
So here is an update of what came in the mail! Other then that I've been dremeling and modifying the battery cases, batteries are very very tight fit. Took the crappy red of my springs to match the polished motor mounts! Have to send my servo in because its not a one hole style on the tabs.....Lame lol

RE: dstak's Merv Build
Well here is another update! As I was sleeping this came in the mail from TBone Racing! Not putting it on because I'm waiting on my servo I had to send back and still a motor Other then that I say the mini e-revo is a pretty cool machine, I think traxxas left too much to be desired. They should have did a nitro revo chassis..... This looks more and more like a truggy and I might have a new chassis design up my sleeve But other then that can't wait to run it!

RE: dstak's Merv Build
Did you go with a 380 size motor or something else? Let me know how the Tacon motor performs and what you think of it. I've thought about trying the Tacon motors. Thanks! Looks good! Is it done yet...is it done yet??? lol
