You are absolutel right that detuning the ESC would help... but that would take the fun out ot it!
BTW, I watched your video - you have got an awesome bashing spot!
t9dragon,
Glad you got the radio issue figured out. Even with these radios coming out of China, it's rare to get one DOA!
So, after putting another 5,000mA pack through the truck I seem to have worn or loosened the slipper out of adjustment. It didn't sound like the pinion came loose but the truck would barely move and the slipper was making that whirring sound. I reached a finger in toe see if the slipper "felt" loose and found the outputs hotter than a pistol! I am not sure when it worked loose as it ws doing wheelies at will earlier in the pack!
Still loving it and will attempt to tighten up the slipper tonight.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Brief update from day three with the little XS:
Slipper clutch needed adjustment after two 2S packs. The 10mm nut seemed like it it took a full turn to bottoom out, the point where HPI says to loosen it a 1/4 turn. That setting seems a tad bit loose but it still wheelies at will. The slipper pads shouldn't have worn that much so I hope the adjustment doesn't need constant attention.
The TF-40 radio system:
I learned after a backslide on its lid that the actual length of the rx antenna only reaches to about cab level of the body. The antenna length seemed quite long for a 2.4g system and it appears HPI just uses a full length antenna tube because it was easier, or to make it easier to feed it through the body.
Fun truck - jumps nicely.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW.......................................... It is one BAD ASS truck.....
This little truck can take a beating.. My son and I bashed them hard for an hour at the school parking lot by our house. There is a soccer field that slopes to a small drainage area than it goes back up to the parking lot.. My son on several occassions had his XS 6-7 feet in the air and of coarse dad didn't get those jumps and landings on camera. We used to bash our 4wd Slashes at the same spot and after bay 15-20 mins we would have to come home because something on the Slash would break. After an hour of bashing the only thing that is messed up on the XS's are the bodies.. I hope there are bodies and parts soon for these little guys so we can bash them even harder... I will have pics and video posted later today...
Temps after one battery were Motor 151, ESC 115, Battery 110
IN ONE WORD to DESCRIBE these TRUCKS is "AWESOME" just like it's big brother FLUX HP and it's nitro cousins...
