I'm using 4600mah 6-cell Venom NiMH flat pack for now. In the Castle Link software it suggests setting the cut-off to 4 V for a 6-cell pack, is this a good setting, or do you recommend something different?

**Edit** I changed the cut-off to 4 V as per the recommendations in the software and I see no change in behavior. With a full charged 6-cell pack, I am getting just a clicking noise and no movement at all. This is what happened before, except previously it would run for a few seconds and then do this for a few seconds.

You need to set the ESC for NIMH. When running a NIHM pack you don't need to set a cutoff that is only when you are using lipo batteries.

Thanks T9, and thanks Nitro-Rob. I set the ESC to no cut-off, but I'm still getting the same results as the video above.

Hello again,
I've see this auction on ebay off&on for the last few months. Seems like a pretty good deal ESC+Leopard motor for $115-$155. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal vs a MMP combo? Thx

Just ordered one of these fans:

Same size, and I'm just assuming it will run fine from the receiver. Will report back once installed.

Anybody tried the Kershaw Gen 2.2 120ampESC with the stock motor? It's a bit overkill, but waterproof with opportunity to upgrade the motor.

Fan is working great.

Pros:
Fits in the esc box just like the stock fan
Quieter than the stock fan
Moves more air than the stock fan(temps ~25° cooler according to my cheap infrared thermometer)

Cons:
You have to change the plug
You have to open the ESC box, so it probably voids your warranty

If you don't have a servo lead lying around buy one with it, or you will end up cutting your stock wires(or cannibalizing from a computer case like Idid) to make the connector.

Ialso put in a Traxxas 2075 while it was down, and that made a night and day difference.

Yeah I though Leopard motors were good. I emailed the auctioneer for the package and he said the ESCis a Hobbywing SC8. These appear to be pretty popular. How does it stack up against the MMP? Thx

Yes, you could bind another rx to the radio but you would have to reset your endpoint adjustments everytime you switched vehicles.

looks good, might want some bigger tires though if you plan on doing any bigger jumps, helps with bottoming out.

I finally got my Q base esc from HPI it only took 2 months,  but now I have a decent back up if my MMP goes out.

That isn't true. I had the Flux ESC in my Savage Flux HP go out and it was exactly two weeks from the time I sent it in to the time I got the new one back. Also you have to remember that there were a lot of ESC's that smoked when the Savage XS came out, so maybe they are making sure to have all the issues fixed before they sent out the new ones.
