If you leave them like they come, they don't necessarily need upgrades. When you go from brushed to brushless, get ready to spend money. My Detta SC was pretty fun running around with the VR3. Then I threw a BL in and it was insanely fast. Then I broke the stock axles and now it sounds like it needs ball diffs. Goes from a $175 RTR, to $300 plus, but I was warned. My son's Megatech Megapro has been nearly bulletproof as a basher for him, but he's easy on it. It was $70 shipped!
X-ray may be great, but hardly anyone sells them. Good luck finding a LHS stocking X-ray parts too. They don't even stock DTX 1/18th stuff at either of my LHS's.

My LHS carries X-ray. If the poll asked 'which one is easier to get parts for' I may not have said the xray would be the choice, but that doesn't change the fact that the M18T pro is head and shoulders above everything else in the market. Anyone who disagrees has obviously never seen one up close. The difference is staggering, take my word for it.
The results of the poll show that a few people know what they are voting for, and the rest are just voting for what they own.

Foxy, I have had a red delrin draglink since someone made them and it pretty much cured the steering issue on the 18xx series cars. Have you not tried one? If not I suggest you do. I know it's old news but...

Yeh, I realise there are fixes for this stuff, and I must say the 3racing steering system for the B2/T2 is a work of art and perfectly functional too. All I'm saying is that the Xrays offer so much more out of the box.

All I've owned are two Duratrax vehicles and one Caster Racing 1/18th Fusion and I didn't vote just because Iown them. Ican't say Duratrax builds them durable out of the box though, but then again, what doesn't break hitting a curb at 20-25mph? Then my sons DTXSCbroke the stock axle in the grass....

I agree. I was after the word "best" as I figured it was intended. However if the word was "superior" I would go with Xray for certain. Just that John Q Public won't be buying any Xrays compared to those of us deeply imbedded in this hobby.
