Skora your back! Nice to see you again on the mini forums. Great video! I've looked at these little buggies on Hobbyking before and have considered one. I am also considering the Losi Mini 8ight, obviously alot more money. Let me know what you think of this buggy after running it a while. Thanks!

I am back into the minis! We have been running 1/10 slashes lately! Check my other videos out sometime
I am also looking at the mini eight, it looks great...
I added a test run on the track on the first post! Overall I am pretty impressed with the car in stock form. It took me awhile to get used to it. The buggy is much smaller than the revo 1/16 was. I will keep updating as time goes on.

Great video! I love your backyard track. It does look like it has great speed in stock form. I just might have to get one. I still have my Mini-Revo and Rally, sold everything else off. But now looking at getting a 4wd buggy, probably a mini as well. If this 1/16 Turnigy runs good and some of the Mini Inferno parts will fit, making finding replacement parts easier. I might do that. The Losi is 1/14 but I am not sure I want to drop another $300 on a RC right now. Years ago I had a 1/16 Chaos nitro buggy, I liked the size but got tired of dealing with the finicky nitro motor. lol

I was just looking on Hobbyking.com at this buggy and noticed they have a new 1/16 rally car as well. It appears to be the same chassis and electronics. The body shape looks very much like the Traxxas rally.

Hello brianjskora
I'm gonna to buy this car but i'm not sure about the maximun dimmensions of the battery. Do you think that a 116x36x19mm will fit?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html
And a 105 x 33 x 16mm one?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__8933__Turnigy_2200mAh_2S_20C_Lipo_Pack.html
Thank you very much

They have a nice monster beetle. May get that! I'm already getting the losi mini-8, so I don't need two buggies. I figure the monster beetle will cover those times I just want to zip around for fun and not worry about anything. Heck, it's will be perfect for those days I'm waiting around on my Mini 8ight, or as i'm going to coin it... M8 pronounced "mate"
I'm trying to wait till the USA warehouse gets this;don't want to pay 30 in shipping on top of 70 bones.

Buthus-
Not sure if those batteries will fit. All I have is the turnigy 1700s made for the car. Im sure you could modify it to fit them, but I have not tried.
Joe
Yea the 30 shipping sucks but I went ahead and stocked up on a TON of parts for another 30 as well, so hopefully I wont need anything else. I would get the beetle too unless you have a track to run on. The buggy is very low

Brian,
THe mini 8 is very nice. Well built from just the look and feel. I have yet to drive it... Currently selling the electronics along with my Thumder AC 6 charger. Hopefully it will sell and I can get some more hop ups for it.
I will get one of these turnigy beetles. Waiting for them to be in stock at USA warehouse

Skora,
Don't forget about our potential deal.... I do want this from you. Won't be hard to convert to beetle; though, I may keep as buggy and have two buggies. I'm thinking about a week or so, let me finish getting the necessary parts I need for the mini 8ight.
I have to order a servo, the mamba micro pro esc, shocks, and a swaybar kit. Probably have to go with alum hubs as well, but may hold off, so I can get your rc. A couple hundred this week on the mini 8ight, and maybe I can convince the misses I need another rc, just in case there is down time with mini 8ight
Please hold it for me
Joe

Same as mini inferno... parts available for the turnigy on hobbyking but any of the mini inferno parts fit. They have replacement ball diffs. They are holding up fine now and seem smooth. I am not bashing.

Thanks for your prompt reply
I've a miniinferno v2 and I decided to change the diffs by balls ones because they are don't run smoothly.
I think that the value of tunrigy is not only its price, but s itsminiinferno compatibility.
I'm just waiting until turnigy biggy arrives and i'll be able to compare!

Hey Brian,
Great video. Love the slow motion shots and durability of the rc. I assume the arm was broken when you slammed into the wooden bridge post to save it from drowning in the creek
By the way, which video editing software you using, and what type of camer is that?
Great stuff... I know what to expect with my turnigy beetle whenever I can get it. Hey, was that a gyro on your buggy? The video of the shock towers and differential... Looks like a gyro on the sitting along the top chassis brace.

Glad to have received your parts today, I was running your receiver in the video...
I am using Windows Live Movie Maker, which came on my thinkpad. I am shooting the video on my Iphone 4s.
No gyro. I am thinking you are seeing the ON/OFF switch

RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
That's awesome bro... The iPhone 4s! What a great phone. Was able to film the birth (not the doctors view) of Andrew. Great HD quality out of that phone. I guess I should use it for my rc videos. I did my other video on the battery tray mods with an older video camcorder. It wasn't hd, but it's the mini DVD kind... Got it just before hd cameras were popular enough to afford. Dang!
I did pick up one of those Chinese mini HD recorders, it looks like a key fob - neat little recorder, does good hd video, just not like a Hero2 HD does, but it only cost me 30, shipped. There's a dozen out there, but I did my research and got the right one that has the best quality and the company on eBay has great customer service. I'll let u know which one to get, if you're ever interested... I had to do my research to know, so I didn't get a bad cheapie with zero support.
I'll make a quick video with it to show its quality
Yeah, that must be the switch. It looks small and square, but very similar to the new mini gyros.

Hi! I'm a rc Heli guy, new to this site and new to RC Cars/Trucks. I'm ordering one of these 1/16 buggies today and was wondering what the largest battery Icould use might be. Isee the dimensions on the HK site, but I've also seen serveral posts on forums where folks are using 1600-1700mah batteries.
Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to stick with 2s for now to help keep it under control.
Thanks for any advice!

I'm still debating one of these buggies bur now I see HK has 1/18 buggy RTR for $55, it is brushed but I like the looks. It and their 1/18 sc are clones of the Helion Animus vehicles.
