help identifying this pinion
hey guys I need you help figuring out what this pinion is.
it is from a 27 year old RC car and the manufacturer has no idea what they used back then, so all I have is this.
it is normally a press fit, but has started spinning on the shaft, so I want to replace it with one with a setscrew to better hold it in place (along with some green loctite),
it is 15.5mm long because the car has a selectable high/low speed gearbox. if i had to i could use a short gear and just choose one ratio to run in permanently.
I am pretty sure its 14.5 degree but anyway here is the picture of it, hope you guys can help me out with this one.
I can't use the forum upload? so it is hosted on my site for now.

RE: help identifying this pinion
Yup, its a pinion!! Just kidding...
2mm is a standard bore for 1/18th pinions (280 motor shafts), so you're in luck there, there are a variety of pinions available that size with grub screws. The question then becomes one of pitch. 32p (p=pitch) is the norm for these kinds of pinions, and to be honest, your gear 'looks' about right for an 8t 32 pitch, so I'm guessing that's what it is. However, gear mesh is so critical that this becomes the one big question...is it 32p? Or is it something else...
By the way, it looks like your shaft is long enough to easily get two different sized gears on, face to face.
Try something here (this is the result of a search for '2mm pinion')...
