Default How's this truck?

This truck here

http://www.ecxrc.com/Products/Defaul...rodId=ECX01001

i also had a couple questions for it... Can I custimize with other parts or stronger batteries. Is it fully waterproof. Is there anywhere else I can get it cheaper? Thank you everyone in advance!

No, no, and no. The truck is not LiPO ready, it does not have waterproofing, and about $99 is as about as cheap as I can see it anywhere.

not being lipo ready isn't a big deal on a cheap beginner car, you can always upgrade later. and not having any water proofing doesn't matter at all as long as you don't drive though puddles of water on a regular basis. none of my cars have ever had waterproofing, after 18 years of hobby grade RC'ing, iv never had a problem.

don't know anything about latrax cars. all i know is the company itself is a cheaper "off brand" (for lack of a better term) put out by traxxas. hmmm... maybe side project or off shoot would explain it better (?). personally id avoid them. traxxas itself is an entree level company, a cheap dumbed down off shoot from a company that makes entree level cars just sounds like a bad idea to me.

it dawned on me last night after i had signed off that you can pick up a team associated apex mini/rc18 off ebay for good prices. iv seen rollers go for as low as $40. i was bidding on one a few months ago with a radio and servo, no motor or ESC. it sold for $50 somethin. and those are pretty good cars.

or you can always go this route. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTS1000p?&C=C there's a short course truck 9th down that says box damage only, $85. or the DT first on the list, says works fine and it's $84.
i recently bought 2 of the dromida's off there cause they were so damn cheap. complete RTR package, battery and charger included, even came with batteries for the radio. there not bad, wont win any races or set any speed records but for just running around out in the street they work pretty good. they even have hop ups available http://www.dromida.com/surface/hopups/index.html

or hell do a little research on the ECX you wanted to know about in your original post. maybe that'll actually work for you.
