Default Transmitter and car won't bind

Went to run the Dromida 4.18 SCT yesterday and car wouldn't run. Servo made noise and moved a bit when battery was plugged in, but no ascending tones like usual. That is until I turned OFF the Tx. THEN I got the ascending tones. But of course, the Tx was off, so no go.
I tried re-binding the Tx and Rx, but got no beep. Pulled out the Dromida buggy and tried binding that radio to the SCT. Bingo! Truck now works. So....the truck's original radio will no longer bind. Tried binding it to the buggy, no go. Seems that radio is foinked. What are my options or solutions? "Hello, Dromida? Can you sell me a radio?"?

Seems like a dumb question, but did you try putting in new batteries in the radio?

Throttle/servo trim all set to neutral?

Apart from that, if you tried binding the tx a few times and no go, maybe call them up. See if you can get it replaced?

I've seen this issue only a few times and most were because the transmitter was dropped.
Here's the replacement transmitter(the 2-channel is discontinued)

Hey guys! Oh yeah, good transmitter batteries, charged car battery....the lot.
And it's entirely possible that handset has been dropped. It's being operated by a nine year old. 😰 Thanks for the link to the new Tx. Eeek! $42 😵 I have a call in to customer service, I'll see what they can do for me, if anything, before I fork out for the replacement. 🙏
Cheers!

Yep, definitely new radio time. Just waiting to find out what Hobbico can do for me. Until this tread, I wasn't even aware I could buy a new radio. So that's good to know. Hell, I'll be happy if they give me a discount code for 40% or 30% off. Retail of $43 ain't gonna break me, but if I can get one for half price, that'd make me smile. In the meantime, the youngest boy who's been coming over to use the track is the only one who's been over lately. His older brother has school sports now. So I can bind his radio to the younger guy's car till we get a replacement.

You could look at alternatives too, there are basic models of Flysky stuff, like this one here https://www.amazon.com/FS-GT2-Channe...rds=flysky+2.4

Goolrc also has had pretty good reviews https://www.amazon.com/GoolRC-Digita...s=2.4ghz+radio

And heres the one I've been using
https://www.amazon.com/Flysky-FS-GT2...s=2.4ghz+radio

Can't be done unless he has the brushless version. The brushless version has a separate receiver and ESC.
Otherwise if it's the brushed version it has a brick so to change the radio system would also require buying a mini brushed ESC and installing it. May as well upgrade it to brushless at that point.

Ahhh touche, good point. Completely forgot most small scale stuff ships with the esc/receiver/5wire servo stock.
