One of the first things I did was put in a Peak 1200 Ni-MH pack. The little "T" actually has some get up and go now.

so far in my tests the mini-t esc handles up to 9.6v from a 8cell and the thing flys however the motor is the week link and in my estimation will hold up to 6 cells for a while depending on the use you give it

Can a regular 7.2 volt battery fit into it???

also:
Anyone know if regular electric car motors work in it?

The Mini-T uses AA size battries.

The motor is also smaller that a standard electric motor for a buggy or staduim truck RC. I have seen for other posts somewhere as to the actual size of the motor, but I can't remember what the details were off hand.

I'm quite sure I read that it is an RS280 size motor and you can fit an HPI RS4 type battery into the mini-t, that is a 4 by 2 configuration.

I was going to put in a different motor but I didn't want to have to drill out the plate (tried two motors and though they were the same size, the "holes" didn't align up. I also don't know of anyone using a brushless set-up.

What motors were you trying? Regular RC electric motors or specific to micro RC? If all it is a screws whole lining up I would love to put in regular RC electric motor if I got one. I am debating on getting one of these Mini-T's - but want more power.

Big Block & Chubby--same size motors, not "regular" size. I would have tried more same size motors, but those were the only motors the store had in stock. I don't want to change my Mini-T too much too quick since there are no replacement parts available here, only new Mini-Ts. The battery pack does add a lot of speed--see post #2.

Apparently, you never read the links. Then again, you are not looking for a micro-motor.

NEW Raider Micro Modified

Since 1985, Peak Racing has been producing high performance racing motors for all R/C car applications. With the release of the immensely popular Team Losi Micro-T, Peak Racing continues this trend with the release of the high performance Raider micro off-road motor. Increased power is always welcome - and the Raider delivers!
Because of its unique dimensions, the Raider comes with its very own motor plate to replace the stock version.

PEK1405 Raider Micro Modified $37.00
PEK1406 Raider Micro Modified w/motor plate $49.00

Yeah I read the links - One says it does like 30k RPM. It is a micro motor as well.

Not being as familiar with the electric motors - I am asking because I am not sure. I mainly mess with the nitro engines. So I was trying to figure out which of the ones listed gave the most bang for the dollar.

I just looked at the one on the Trinity site for the Mini-T -

There are so many brand to choose from, so many option on electric motors. I am not familiar with electric. I am not sure which would give more power still.

Regular motors you look at # of winds and # of turns, what do you look at to tell you have a motor that has more power than another on these.

Is there a default for these motors? Most do not tell you what RPM's or anything.
