ESC for Mini Baja with Lipo:

I am taking the lipo plunge but I have read somewhere that the standard ESC does not protect the battery during low voltage, ie, a different ESC is needed.

What are good replacements for this? I am not a racer, more a "casual basher". But I do appreciate quality.

Regards

i think the esc in the baja has a low voltage protector. i only say this because of how fast the car will go from full bore to dead stop when the battery gets lower. or is that just how nimh batteries work?

I broke my 4th servo holddown. I'm going to get one in alloy next time I'm at the track. Maybe if I had that would help also...

dying the chrome losi rims with rid dye wont work, works only with the white or yellow ones, unless you take off the chrome with stove cleaner.

I'm going to get some white rims and dye them blue for the bashing set (Dirt-Hawgs). The Racing Rims are going to be Green.

I've had HORRIBLE luck with Integy. The track owner it going to give me a great deal on it. Hopefully I'll be able to start putting some money in to my Rustler vs. my Mini-T since it's been running good for a while minus the brace. What mamba system is just a slight bit faster then the Orion Baja? I was thinking the 5400 or 6800. I'm going to get a 4200 motor for $20 so I'll have a motor for REALLY small tracks.

the 6800kv is crazy fast on full power, if I was you I would get the 6800kv and when you want to run on the track put it on lower power, just incase you want the extra speed one day to do speed runs and such

My baja is fast enough. I'm going to run A123 6.6 volt pack or some 2 maybe even a 3 cell Li-Mn.
