Well if you put a percentage on it. i would bet there are %90 mini-t out there compared to %10 rc18t for one there new hard to get, and 2 4wd it all depends if you want 2wd or 4wd really. but i tell you what i have a maxed out mini-t full alloy and ssg cf and im having more fun with my rc18t stock then i am with my mini-t maxed out.

The RC18T will still be 4wd when converted to nitro and if you unscrew the 8 screws that are needed to mount the 2 piece drop in kits you can throw you electric set up back in!

I wanna see some drawing or pictures...
something i will do for sure. considering i had both nitro conversions for the mini-t soon as they were available but i longed for a 4wd mini wich is why it faded..

how fast will the stock rc18t go? I am a newbie to the electric trucks/cars. I fly electric planes but my son got a Hummer H2 for christmas....New Bright Brand, but he saw a mini t and fell in love with it, then we saw the traxxas rustler, then I found the rc18t. This would be a backyard truck running on dirt and short grass. He likes the mini/micro trucks but I think he would be better off with a 1/10th scale....So I am basically just scanning all the forums looking for what people are going with and why. I would like to find one that is moderately fast, but very durable...I here the traxxas rustler would e a highly durable choice but is just moderate in speed, well stock anyway. I would automatically go to a 6-7cell battery system for him.
O yeah he is 5yrs old..but VERY mechanically inclined...Let me brag a bit..my son is on the 6th level of halo2 and has yet to die. He can fly my 4ch plane pretty good, so his age wont be an issue.

wow that is impresive. i am glad to see the youth into hi-tec rc. the stock rc18t goes 21 mph and it is extremely durable! its a blast in the dirt and aluminum up grades are already coming out. this guy frank from caw country alloy works makes aluminum bits for the truck and hes good. i say go for the rc18t your son will love it! they handle superbly and for upgrade all you need is a mamba brushless with a 3 cell li po pack that will send the truck to 50mph and take a little weight off of it. like i said get the associated rc18t!

I say let him go with a rc18t.. its a 1/10th soul packed in a 18th body!!! its very durable and there are many upgrades and it can be very fast best of all its 4wd. and parts are very inexspensive compared to 1/10th scale. and man can they jump!!! dont count on a 1/10th being better

now this is comming from a guy who flew electric micro helis and 1.4 scale cars 1/10 nitro cars, i have had them all and i am so fasinated with the rc18t...

Hey buddy, I was going to do the nitro conversion with a Norvel .074 (should be plenty, its half the displacement of a .15 and is light) but then I read that several drive parts are made of plastic. What gives? Nitro or electric, drive parts have to be metal. That really disappointed me. Maybe I'll do the MiniZilla when it comes out, if the price and opportunity is right (Mini savage heh heh).

So what engine are you using, and what clutch/bell/spur/brake system are you using?

For the drive get CVD's and a ball diff, such as the losi 1 or I belive other companys make them also and that should help.

we ran an rc18t at the local indoor track (same track as roar nationals 2004) and it kept up with the 10th scale trucks all the way around the track, the jumps were awsome and the speed was great. the truck was completly stock and it was very impressive. just my .02 cents

Does anyone have any pics of the RC18t with the lipos in it? I am still putting my team kit together and don't see where the lipos would really fit unless they can be mounted on the top of the center brace.

Thanks.

I'm working on a self-designed plane now, when I get some cash after it maybe I'll do the conversion.

Crispy, did you get around to converting it yet?
