RE: OFFICIAL RC18T FORUM
It sounds like you broke the servo gears. Open up the servo and take a look. There ought to be a couple teeth missing. This would be suprising given the super-plush servo saver.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18T FORUM
They do need some mods... put a bl system in it stock rc18 and you will not be able to keep it straight. you need to upgrade at least the steering link such as this [link]http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=7421&cat_name=[/link]. The steering has much play in it. and also you can get dirt in your spur/pinion mesh if your not careful.
My Rc18t project
Dynamite 8000kv motor
Dynamite bl taser
driven production gear protector
dp steering link
carbon gear servo
aluminum diffs with rear steel gears
steel CVD
thetoyz bearings
factory team shocks
Zippy lipo 1800 2s 40c
Zippy lipo 1500 3s 20c
Awaiting for the lipos....from china but worth every penny...don't get nimh, lipo are cheaper now a days
ill post pics when i get everything

RE: OFFICIAL RC18T FORUM
Mine looks stock from the outside (minus the tires) so here's a list of the mods instead.
RPM A-Arms and shock towers
3racing Aluminum shocks
DrivenPro Spring Retainers, Drag link, and gear cover
TheToyz Steel Diff gears
MIP Super Diffs
Castle 6800kv BL and Sidewinder Sport 1/18
Deans Connectors
Aluminum Servo Saver, Servo horn, and bellcrank
Bearings in the bellcrank
Thunder Power 2s 1800 Mah Lipo, 30C Cont. 60C Burst
Flightpower 3s 1200 mAh, 25C Cont, 40C Burst (screams on this one)
Zip ties
Future Upgrades:
Steel CVD's in front, maybe in back
Custom CNC milled Battery strap for extra blingage
Adjustable Turnbuckles/tie rods
FFRC Rubber Sealed Bearings(I actually ordered these a few months ago, but something went wrong and the card was never charged nor were the bearings sent)

RE: OFFICIAL RC18T FORUM
Hello!
I've been racing the RC18T since it came out. Inow am more interested in obtaining lipos, because I am noticing that they are, in most cases, a cheaper/better option for the R/Cworld.
Iam currently using a mamba 6800kv setup, and I find that even my older 1100mah NiMhs are more than enough to last me a single race. With this in mind, Irecently discovered these lipos that I have become curious about. The specs are as follows:

Specs.
Minimum Capacity: 1300mAh
Configuration: 2S1P / 7.4v / 2Cell
Constant Discharge: 20C
Peak Discharge (10sec): 40C
Pack Weight: 73g
Pack Size:89 x35 x 22mm
Charge Plug: JST-XH
Can anyone tell me whether these will be a solid upgrade to my cheapo 1100Mah NiMhs?
Isee that they are 200mah and .2v more...am Imissing something that will rob me of this additional power/runtime? To me, @ $6.95 per pack this is a great choice!!
Irealize that the MaHis quite low in comparison to what is out now, but all I want to do is be able to finish a race.
Thanks!

RE: OFFICIAL RC18T FORUM
With the specs you've given, you should see a noticeable improvement, but make sure that you have the correct equipment for lipo. You'll certainly need a lipo charger and balancer.
I'd be a little nervous using a $7.00 lipo though. You may get what you paid for.

Hey don't diss the cheap lipos, I have 3 $10 lipos and they are amazing, one pack I have I've got 200+ charges on it and it still rocks. I'm never gonna buy expensive lipos.
