I am really enticed by the $99 for the Mini-T but the Associated RC18MT has really caught my eye for my 7 year old. I want some else’s opinion on the matter. With The AE RC18MT I get a battery pack, I get 4-whell drive, cooler looking Monster truck tires, which to a 7 year old just about is the icing one the cake. I have a 1/8 scale Ofna Violator so I am sure he will not be able to drive either of these in the grass. I just talked the wife up to the AE RC18mt. She only wanted to spend the $99 but I think with the AE would be worth the extra $35 or so.

I have a Mini-T and really like it. I would still stear you towards the 18MT though. I think it would be a much better built truck.

I also have the Mini-T and I would have to agree I think the RC18MT is a better deal for the younger child. I am planning on getting my 12 year old son the Mini LST just because of the ground clearance and it looks hot as well. But for a child who will want to just bash around I think the RC18MT is the way to go. Don’t get me wrong the Mini-T is a great truck but I go out to the track and race it around when my nitro truck is cooling off. I also bash the Mini-T around my apartment complex jumping speed bumps and stuff like that and all the kids around here love it. Spend the money and get the RC18MT you will be a lot happier in the long run.

I would say the mini-t because its way easier to wrench on than the rc18. Also what 7 year old dosen't like to see dirt getting tossed into the air. This is where the rc18t becomes the money pit, with the rc18t you can't do this but with the mini-t go right ahead (<--has a gear cover).

Thats the reason I had to get rid of my rc18t and why my friends did the same.

I have both trucks and the mini t and the 18t. My Mini t allways seems to break parts and my 18t is allways running no matter what i do to it and i have a mamba 8000k in both so they get abused. the diffs in the 18t are also better in the 18t

Well that you all for your input. I decided to get the Accociated RC18MT! I have already charged all the batteries and tested it! I am amazed at how nice this little truck is! Adjustable rates on the steering and adjustable top speed right on the transmitter!

I have both, The Rc18MT is way better
1)more hop ups
2)all the eletronics are seprate
3)like you said monster tires
4)Its newer better quality
its worth the more money

Would you say the AE18MT is better then the AE18T? Just wondering for which one to get. I am looking for something speedy and good for bashing as stock so I don't have to spend lots of money on upgrades.

Man I would rather take a dead rat instead of my 18mt. Its garbage in the dirt where its supposed to be run because the lack of a gear cover, the electronics almost burnt themselves out because everything gets so hot, The diffs just attract dirt, blew out a bearing after about a week, stock screws are garbage time, and the truck really needs a wing.

Im still kicking my self over buying this stupid 18mt instead of a mini-t. Im seriously about to start trying to convince my dad to sell it and hopefully I can get half back of what I paid for it. Only good thing about it is that its 4wd and its fast stock. But that 4wd doesnt mean much becuase if you try to actually use it offroad you get about 20 seconds of fun before you have to stop and get the dirt out of the spur gear or put the sleeves back on so the diffs dont fill with dirt, or the thing is overheating. The best thing about this truck is that the reciever is small and its easy to waterproof and it works perfectly in my rusty. My 18mt just sits on the shelf trying to look pretty. The only good thing out of it is that I got to use the radio equipment in my rustler. Other than that, it was a huge waste of money.

Thumbs down and smh at AE for putting out an OFFROAD truck without testing it in any dirt and finding such an obivious problem and not fixing all the other problems before releasing it.

i have a mini t and it was really slow until i made a custom conecter for it to use a 9.6 and it would fly and now i have a peak raider motor and now i just break things lol

You can't really compare them. The Mini T is basically a stadium truck and the 18MT is basically a truggy. Personally, my vote would go for the Mini T. It's just better all around. I love mine!

To be honest the AE 18MT is a blast! My son really likes it. His Grandmother got him a Zip Zap Monster truck for Christmas. He hasn't said it but I think that he likes that DARN little Zip Zap better! I also received a Zip Zap from Mother in Law. They are fun to play with on the kitchen floor. I my son and I have had a lot of fun running them together.

I vote for the MLST, but, again, the AE is a truggy and the MLST is an MT.
