You can always plug a transponder in the third channel and race it.

When racing, a transponder is what basically sends the signal back to the timing system to help score or keep track of your times and position.

woah... definitely dont have enough money for a decent one of those... cause im pretty sure my tracks wont have any hook ups (the local indoor track is just starting up, and i just hope they can stay open for a year or two) and i dont really think its all too neccicary... would be cool to practice laps on tracks though

If they race RCs in your area, chances are it will be an AMB-It system. Many times the tracks have "loaners" but they are bulky and have to be returned after the racer's run. If one doesn't race, there is no real need for it but that is one option for a third-channel.

"Worldwide Standard for RC Racing
From the pro ranks of RC to the local club, thousands of RC organizations continue to rely on AMB for their race results.
