Default Brother Needs a Truck!

Hey guys, I have a Mini LST and have been enjoying it. My brother wants to get a mini truck now too. I was thinking Mini-T for him because it looks like a simple truck, but he's thinking Mini-Quake or maybe 18MT. I need some recommendations-- a truck that is easy to work on and has the fewest problems(with diffs, etc.)... Thanks! [8D]

Well all I can say is I own a rc18mt and is the most fun rc truck I've ever had. Since you said you have a mini lst a rc18mt can be easily compared to the mini lst (they drive alike). And keep in mind that the rc18mt is 4wd unlike the mini-t, The rc18 series are the fastest on the market right now, and the comparison is like this, out of the box losi mini-t-14mph, rc18mt-18mph-20mph. IMO get the rc18mt, he will enjoy it.

You guys brought up some good points. We will check out the RC18MT a little more. What about the mini Quake? Are those any good? He seems to want the quake, but I don't know much about them.

I know the stuff that's on the box, but none of the bad things about any of these trucks.

I would go with the LST, nothings more fun than a big monster truck. [8D]

They are COMPLETELY different. The mini lst would be a good choice as you could share parts. The mini quake is nice also.

even though i despise it, i would reccomend the mini-t. easy to work on, cheap to upgrade. but, it is slow out of the box and the elecs suck.

Ok, so the conclusion I'm at so far is: I want him to get a Mini-T-- cuz I know the mini LST will whoop it! He wants either mini Quake or RC18MT. Between those two I'd rather see him get the quake because I heard those 18mt's are quick. [] lol

He really beats the heck out of his trucks... He's worse than I am.

If your worried about the rc18mt outrunning your mini lst (witch most likely it will) a Mini Quake will be a good choice.

Sounds good to me. I think that's what he'll get. The stresstech warranty has come in handy with his evader pro.
Thanks for helping him (and me) choose!

Umm blake a Mini Quake can quite easily out run a MLST! Out of the box they are about the same but if he does go with the Mini Quake I would suggest getting the SE version and buying his own electronics because the SE has CVDs on it it has ball diffs and lots more aluminum.

If it were my truck I'd go with the SE. But he doesn't know much about working on trucks, especially electronics. I'd have to set the dang thing up for him. LOL I'd better not show him the SE.

Ya the original Mini Quake is a good choice, most likely it will be as fast if not faster then your mini lst but still not as fast as the rc18mt (You shouldn't have a problem with him outrunning you because I infer he doesn'st have as much rc driving experience as you).

LOL I will have to take it easy on the guy. He's outside washing my truck right now (my full scale dodge dakota). I said I'd take him to the LHS to get it tomorrow if he'd clean my truck.

We got the mini Quake today. We picked up the 1100 NIMH pack for it as well. He's been enjoying it! It's definitely a perfect match for my Mini LST. Drag racing today, the two trucks were very close! Mini LST jumps off the line quicker and after about 20 feet the Quake is right along side and starts to just barely pull away. Mini LST has an obvious torque advantage but can't match the top end of the mini quake! This is stock VS. stock. I love it!

the quake is single motor right
if so thats the reason the lst has a torque advantage over it

let us see if ur bro can already out drive u lol

Yeah we'll have to make a video. I want to make clips of the two racing. It would be good to help people decide what to get since they're both stock. My bro's only competitive in a straight line. HAHA
he hasn't gotten the hang of "turning" yet. Or "slowing down so you don't hit buildings"
lol it's fun giving him a rough time!
YEP-- mLST=twin motors mQuake=single motor
