Alright, I finally got some up to date pictures of the chaos. The rear end is made completely of parts for the KMI and as far as I can tell, the only thing I will have to do to install it is drill new holes in the chassis. Which is ok with me as I have a new chaos chassis in case I screw it up. The differential is from GPM for the mini inferno. However It is meshing very poorly and seems to be grinding somewhere when I turn it. It meshes just fine with the pinion, the spider gears are what are messed up. Does anyone have any experience with these gears? I have heard mixed reviews on them.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I am welcome to them.

Project is nearing completion, some minor mods done to set up linkage correctly. Reciever box was in the way so i chopped it up. I lowered the steering servo to chassis level to correct the wonky toe-in syndrom when compressing the front suspension. The chaos steering setup didnt like the mini inferno's front end. Body is mounted with velcro on the back and a screw and lexan on the front. Body sits a tad lower, so i cut a notch for the fuel tank to go through. It rolls pretty freely with the nitro mini inferno diffs and pinions, but im waiting until spring to fire it up and break in the gears. Though i did start it to drive around my kitchen due to my impatience anyway, here are some pictures.

Finally, metal gears for the Chaos! I found that the Basher 1/16 Mini Nitro Circus sealed high performance metal diffs will fit into the Chaos diff housing. Using the Chaos size bearing, some shims and a pinion gear from a Traxxas 1/16 diff, we finally have a real diff for the Chaos. Also using the Hpi min x-savage dogbones, Basher axle wheel hubs will complete strengthening the diff/axle system. No changes to the center diff, except locking it, and front/rear dog bones are stock. The front diff cup can be from a Turnigy diff or a 1/16 Traxxas cup w/long set pin. The Basher parts can be found at the HK International site.
