Default Maximum Mah?

What is the most possible Mah batter you could possibly have on a RC18 platform without serious modification? (Brush motor)

And what would it be with say a Mamba (4200)?

With Lipo, the Hyperion 1800 would be a direct drop in (have to raise the battery strap a mm or two). Run time with a Mamba 4200 would likely be in the 30 minute range.

if you could get it to fit you would probably blow th car up... 1/10 batteries have 100 amps per cell
Minis I think have 10 or 50 amps per cell

Set the amps to 2 max... probably set it to 1.5 or the batteries MAH (1.1 for an 1100 battery 1.4 for a 1400 battery etc)

Assuming you could shoehorn a 3000 mAh battery into the 18T, nothing other than really long run times and a likely unbalanced car.

A batteries discharge capacity has nothing to do with how much power it's putting out, only how much power it can put out safely. The amount of power being used is based entirely on the motor you are using. It's the motor that puts the load on the battery, not the battery putting a load on the motor.

With NiCads and NiMh's it's not as important to pay attention to their discharge rate as it is with Lipos. NiCads and NiMhs have much higher discharge capacity than Lipos which is why you see the discharge rating on Lipos and not on NiCads and NiMhs. All types of batteries can be volitile, however Lipos tend to be volitile quicker than other batteries.

So basically, to the original question. The most mAh that can be put in an 18T with out modification is 1800 mAh with Lipo and 1400 mAh with NiMh.

IF you could even get the car to move with the weight of a stick pack
