Default 1/16th Nitro

Need some assistance, advice, or opinion. Ultimately I would like to wait for the Kyosho mini inferno zero nine, but I dont want to wait until November and probably later than that. Plus the price tag is not nice looking.
I am looking at the vulcan or the nb16. It appears both cars are pretty much the same thing, but with different price tags. Are these two cars basically the same? I have read numerous reports about both leaking right at the header/motor mount, and this is mostly because of the plastic header/exhaust. Is this truly fixed with the metal pipe/header.

The inferno can be purchased from a couple of places in the states for about 250, and I have had no luck finding a place in the states to buy the NB16, only in Hong Kong for 163 plus 33 shipping. I am not big on the idea of making an overseas purchase. Any experiences?
The vulcan is about 250 in the states, and the NB16 is 163 in hong kong.

The vulcan is coming out with a sedan option. Any idea if it will fit on the NB16?
RCMART.com in kong kong lists the mini inferno parts and the nb16 parts as one and the same?

Plainly put, I want a nitro 1/16 that I can run on the street when the tracks are not available, and on the tracks when they are available. That being said, I would like to make sure wheels and tires can go on which ever one I choose.
Any help would be great.

Thanks Inverted. They offer two different shipping methods. Which is the fastest and most secure?

EMS Express is their fastest. Be sure to insure it when ordering.

Ever heard of or ordered from RC-Mushroom.com. They are another hong kong outfit. RCmart has the NB16 for 199, and RC-mushroom has it for 165 approx.

I have a Vulcan and i am very pleased with it and it does leak a little around the manifold.
I have ordered an aluminum tuned pipe amd am told that this would solve the leaking issue.
Basically the Vulcan and NB16 are the same vehicle because in Europe it is called the NB16 and
in the USA it is called the Vulcan. I have heard that the Vulcan is made more rigid for the US market and you can pick up a NB16 on E-bay for $199.99.
My advice anyway is to get the Vulcan and HobbyPeople.Net has an extensive parts inventory for it.

you might want to considre the sportwerks 1/16th buggy because its made by a major manufacturer and parts would not be so hard to find and some lhs's might carry the parts. sportwerks is a trustable company and their products aren't that bad

Sorry to borrow this thread but what are the current Mini nitro offroads in 1/18 and 1/16 available today? Can anyone list the other nitro offroads that forecast in the upcoming months?

At this moment i have my eyes set on a XRAY NT18T but i would really like something like a 1/16 Inferno in a nitro since it is bigger, widder, and have higher ground clearance.

Also are there many hop ups for the NT18T?

Yeah that sounds like it between 6 to 8 minutes and remember these tanks are 40cc.

Anyone know when the Schumacher will arrive in the U.S or Canada? The .18 engine pull start is very very tempting.

according to the manual for the chaos a tank of fuel will last between 10 and 15 minutes but of cource this depends on how lean/rich it is set. I am picking one up early tomorrow morning and hope to have it broke in and all set up by work tomorrow. From what the manual says after only one tank of fuel the engine can be set up for performance, I find this strang because on regular nito engines (.10-3.6) it is always more then 1. It must be the size of the engine?

Very strange because the manual for the Vulcan says something different and they are supposed to be the identical engine. [X(]

hey guys
i am very interested in these little trucks i would like to get one.
i was looking at xray's nt18t it's perfect for me. But the only thing that i don't like is the starter box 250.00.. that's like a new mini t. and it's not available at my hobby shop there is one in like..hamilton (a long drive for me for parts) so i'm looking around for somthing that's more or less like the nt18t. a nice .05-.18 egine prefurably a truck or truggy somthing that's not wimpy and that can take a hell of a beating..

if u guys could help me out that would be great!

I have a Chaos and I dont think it was hard to tune. First get the fuel [30% Nitro Mix]. Fill the tank at least to the top. Turn you radio and car on. Plug the glow starter in the engine. Pull the starter in short burst till it starts. Run it in a big lot with the glow starter in the whole time. Once that tank is consumed fill your tank agian. But this time turn the high speed needle 1/8 clock wise till the max performance is found. My needlde was fine stock.
