Default New li-po battery

How long should I charge the new li-po battery (7.4V 1200mAh or 7.4V 1900mAh) if I have a wall charger (8.4V)? Thanks.

Lipo should not be charged with a wall charger because of the danger of overcharge. It takes a specific lipo charger.

Like the others said, get a lipo-specific charger. If you want to charge it with that wall charger get ready for an explosion.

Yes, I am always ready for the explosion. However, I bought the specific li-po wall charger from http://www.hobby-estore.com/helicopt...y-charger.html. I think it should be safe, but I don't know how long I should charge. Please advice.

The charger should stop when full or at the very least have some instructions. Most lipo take over an hr, but can vary from 20 minutes to hrs depending upon the rate.

You cant really charge li-po with a wall charger, you have to be able to adjust the amps. For 1200 mah it HAS to be 1.2 amps.

In looking at the pic of the charger it's hard to tell if it is indeed a lipo cc/cv charger or something else. The seller or manufacturer should help with some instructions.

I blew that pic up, first it's for a Litium-ion battery, and second, it puts out either 1.0 amps, or 1.6. I'd consider something else.

I bought a 7.4V 1200mAh lipo battery and a lipo wall charger with 1.0amps from http://www.hobby-estore.com. I charged the battery with the wall charger having red LED on. Then it turned to green after 30 minutes. I ran my mini-lst, and it ran fine and powerfully.

Something is messed up in the charger then. It takes an hour to charge a 1200mah battery at 1.2 amps, if it took 1/2 an hour, and only at 1 amp, then the charger is messed up.

Lots of new batts are half full or even fuller, it is still unclear whether the charger is ok or not. 30 minutes may be a coincidence, seems to me that is best to contact manufacturer rather than speculate either way.
