For absolutely ridiculous performance, get the Quark ESC and the Dynamite C4 9200kv. It will be pretty much uncontrollable, but it will be bloody quick.

The reason I didn't reccomend that setup is because it would be going over his budget.

That is WAY out of his limit, he has to get a battery too for the $150.

I would go with hyperion or thunder power and i would suggest bpp to get them from, on [link=http://www.b-p-p.com/products.php?cat=35&PHPSESSID=1213c69ca98b0ac14fe16a94c40b1da7]this[/link] page it tells you which cars he lipos fit. Of course ebay is the cheapest sight to get lipos from

The tranny will not explode if you have alum. gear box. I ran 4 and 5 cell lipo in one of my mini-t's with no explosions. However you need a set of flip down binoculars to drive it..lol. It gets away from you fast! You can hit over 100mph with 5 cell lipo and the 8000 mamba I did[8D]

A 5 cell will be out of your budget, 3 cell will work however. Thunder Power, Hyperion, and Apogee are the top brands.

As for the 100mph setup, I don't think it would be too difficult to beat the current speed record, a 5 cell li-po with a fast motor (C4 9200 or the Lehner Troy carries), shove all that in a carbon fiber m18 and you should be set.

Inverted if it were that easy it would've been done... the thing is with a light chassis like a mini it WILL TAKE OFF and if you have the wrong wing/body it will either give not enough or too much downforce... then theres todays tires... not really up to the task of handeling over 100k RPM's even foams will blow apart... the truth is theres really no way it can get a mini over 90... unless it is all custom, basically dragging on the ground, custom tires, custom body... you get the point

I know it wouldn't be easy, I didn't really get into details in that post, just a basic idea. There would have to be a bit of fabrication involved. Another thing is a wing with significant downforce would be required. It's by no means a drag and drop situation, I can see where I may have came off like that in my other post. It's certainly possible though, and having access to the required machines would help alot. If I personally was trying to set a record I would go with a larger scale due to the fact there are more options and ways of tuning then what you can reach in this small of scale. As well as the fact there are alot more items to choose from in say a 1/10 scale.
