Need help choosing motor!
Alright since I decided to stay brushed instead of going brushless, I need some help choosing a good brushed motor. I need it to be compatible with the stock RC18 esc and mount perfectly on the stock motor mount with no mods. I also want it to be the fastest. I want a motor that will get me into the mid 20's into the low 30's if possible on the stock pack. If those speed arent possible, than tell me the best motor out of these.

RE: Need help choosing motor!
I run the Reedy 17T in my 18B and it easily hits the 30 mark. I am running AE foams, MIP CVDs and Super Diffs, and the stock spur with a 13 tooth pinion. With my good Reedy cells in place speeds are closer to 35 with loads more punch.

Of all the motors in your list I would say the Reedy 17T is gonna be the fastest. I have been running the 19T in an Itsy Bitsy Spyder with very good results also, but the 18B is clearly faster. The stock pack with that motor easily hits right around 30.

Cool. I am running the RC18MT but its not really a mt or a 18t or a 18b. I am running 1/10 foam tires and currently running a speed 300 motor. So you really cant catigorize it as any of them. I got bored of the speed of the 300 motor and want something faster. If this Reedy is gonna get me into the 30mph mark area it's gonna definatly be my #1 choice

It will, but keep in mind you will have a little motor maintenance to keep up on. I would pick up a couple extra sets of brushes when you get the motor, and a can of motor spray. Every couple of packs you should pull the brushes and spray it out real good, then re-oil the bearings. Once your brushes get around half of their original length you should change them if you want to maintain peak performance. After about 20 or so packs I turned the comm because it was looking a little worn, however I probably could have let it go for another 20 packs and not noticed much difference. Your LHS should be able to turn the comm for you when it becomes needed for only a couple of dollars, if you dont have a lathe.

I barely run my car. Its been almost a year since I got it and ran it only about 5 times. Maintenece wont be a big deal
I upgrade my car more than I run it lol [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
I'll pick up some extra brushes and motor can spray. I think thats all I'll need

How come it says" Reccomended connection: Direct solder to esc"? Couldn't you just use a deans plug too? Does it say direct solder to esc because thats for best performance?

Looks cool..
But I must agree with you inverted on the baja motor. How can it be that the baja motor is just as fast the stock motor. I find it hard to believe. People give it good reviews when it's just as fast as stock [&:]
Maybe when you put it in the mini t its 20mph
But anyways guys. So what did you guys come up with?
Whats the better upgrade for speed? The battery or the motor?

Wiring direct alway's has less resitance than even a "zero loss" connector like a Dean's. However I'm sure it will work fine.
As for the Baja, I have one it a Mini-t, it's great in there, but it's a huge upgrade over the stupid stock motor. I don't think the mini-T with it is much over 20 mph, right in that neighborhood though. Remember though, that motor has been out a couple year's now, there are better/newer motor's now.
The battery is better, I garauntee you'll be impressed with some good cell's.

RE: Need help choosing motor!
I forgot to ask.. What kind of mph increase will I get using this motor. Like how much more miles per hour will I gain using that batt? I am running everything stock.
Speed is very important to me
