RE: 18th & 36th SCALE RACING-TOLEDO,OH AREA
[sm=thumbs_up.gif] Hey all you Scalpel owners out there! Just wanted to let you know that we have an abundant amount of replacement parts on backorder and that they are forcast to arrive in about two weeks. Amazingly all the Scalple parts are quite affordable, and the parts count on the car is low, so it should be nice for all of you who invested in it. If you are a Scalpel wanabe, we have two more that should arrive today (Friday)! [sm=shades_smile.gif]
Also the new Recoil is here and all the replacement parts for them should be here early next week.
As always if I can assist you with the parts you need, either for upgrade or repair (i.e. Crossover mis-haps) please let me know what you need and I'll gladly get them for you!
Also ask us about our new VIP programs that can save you 2%, 5%, or even 10% on everything you buy from us. We'll be offering it first to all of the loyal Friday night racers. We think it's a great value for a minimal cost! Check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I'll see everyone tonight, I've got to go prepare for the carnage. [sm=drowning.gif] Marshall, help me, help me!

Hey Pat! Here is a link to the venom racing website, check out what it says about the Venom Racing Fireball 370!!! It is not a stock motor, and in my opinion should not be run in a stock class since it is a MODIFIED motor. Thanks for checkin' it out. Just like some other people were saying to me, they just want it to be a fair race.

RE: 18th & 36th SCALE RACING-TOLEDO,OH AREA
Here's a couple of exerpts from ROAR and RC Pro Series rules. I realize that we are sanctioned by neither of these, but these are generally accepted rules at all levels of competition. They are in reference to "rough driving". I can understand when a newbie may accidentally take someone out, but it seems that some more experienced drivers are using this as a method of passing, or just doing it for some other reason. I'm tired of having my cars beat-up and my races ruined by people who can not make clean passes, or think it's OK to "hack" people. Yes, this racing is just for fun, but getting punted off the track by people who can't drive is not fun!!!
Can we please address "rough driving" and "clean passing" in the driver's meeting??
ROAR
5.12.1 A black flag will be given to a driver whose driving, vehicle operation, or performance
constitutes a hazard to the other vehicles in the race. This includes insufficient skills to
compete in the class, unsportsmanlike driving, and intentional hitting of other vehicles.....
5.13.3 Any of the following actions on the part of a driver or member of his crew will result in
mandatory disqualification from an event:
5.13.4.7 Deliberate abusive nerfing, bumping, or blocking.
RC Pro Series
13: The following may result in disqualification if the race director so sees fit:
a: ......
f: Rough driving or intentional hacking.

I had a blast as usual last night, thanks to everyone that showed up! Thanks andy for [the pyramid of punishment] ramp.
Scott don't forget to save some hate for me next week in 2-wh class! I'll be sideways in the track more than not.

Hey guys, I bought and put together a scalpel that is setup pretty much in the center, car has never been ran, body is unpainted. I watched on friday night and decided it wasn't really for me! I will include everything that came with the scalpel pro kit, plus a hitec HS-81MG servo, both with their original boxes. I would like to sell it and get an 18R or a recoil. if interested make me an offer.
[email protected]
Thanks guys!!!
I WANNA PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tnt, the venom #1320 motor pictured is a version of the mabuchi 370 motor that is stock in several rtr vehicles including the one in the associated 18 series of cars and trucks, also the two in the mlst. Yes they can be fast! But a motor alone is not going to win or lose someone a race. you should pick on the motor that comes STOCK in the mini-baja and also the new recoil, it's an external brush ball bearing motor that is very fast.

So, following that line of thinking.....All I've got to do is find a car that comes stock with a brushless and I can run that in stock class, right? Hmmmm..........

Why is it ok in one instance, but not the other? I'm confused.......you're allowing some motors in stock because they are "versions" of a motor that come stock in some particular car? If a new car comes with a mod brushed motor, will that be allowed in stock? If Venom calls their motor a mod motor, why is it stock just bacause it comes in RTR?
By the way, does anyone know what this post means?

The rules state "box stock style motors". Generally brushless are not "box stock style" anything. Would you all feel better if we gave hand-out motors for the trophy race?

Hand out motors would be awsome if the entry fee is still just $10
I really do not care, since I do not race stock, but I see cars in stock that are faster down the straight than my "mod" motor. Here's exactly what the rules state:
Sportsman Class
5 Minute Race
6 cells max
2/3A NiMh Cells Only
Batteries And Motors Must Plug In (no direct solder)
No Spiked Tires and No Traction Compound (Indoor Racing Only)
Box Stock Motors Only
Any Retail Purchasable Option Parts (no custom made parts)
Any 1/18 Style Bodies (must look like that body)
So, does that mean the exact motor that comes stock, or does it also include variations, as has been the case?
Interesting enough, I also saw this as I was re-reading the rules. Sort of goes with my "angry" post (as 8ight would call it) from earlier.......
"The Race Director may Black Flag any driver whose driving is unsportsmanlike or abusive on the track."

I guess this stock motor debate should be left to pat and tim to decide, If anyone has a beef with equipment in stock then they can race modified.
scott i saw that post from nitroutlaw i think he posted on wrong thread.

I WILL be running brushless but I'll only partially charge batteries and drive with an eye patch!

In reality you should get a third eye.

Aren't brushless set-ups running as mod now anyway? I plan on running brushless in my 4 wheel on road car, unless I get my LRP esc back soon.
