what is the easiest way to get the E clips on the wheels on a losi micro ?
jeff
I had a pair of craftsman mini needle nose pliers, the long skinny ones.
i cut a narrow and shallow groove close to the tip of one jaw.
I magnatized the grooved jaw so I could set the clip in it then press it on the axle. (took a little practice)
Later I broke down and bought the threaded axles!

I am pretty disappointed in my Micro DT right now. I picked one up thinking it would be fun to have a micro class and keep them slow for close racing. After 2 days of runnign at the track the guys have decided to not get them. I guess I was the dummy.

I got mine and so far it has bearing upgrade, Street Meat Tires, Tuning spring kit, and 7.4V lipo. All this before I realized what a piece of crap.

One steering link broke going over a bump that my 1/18s take at full speed, and the other bent to the point it barely steers on the same bump. No problem, I have been reading the stock links were junk so I made some more from lexan and just made a few extras. Well today was my second test. First run I got 1/2 a lap before it broke, today I got 3 laps before I hit the same bump a little sideways and the truck did a small flip. Instead of my lexan breaking it simply broke the steering knuckle. I guess it will be 4.8V from now on and Ill run it on glass to keep it from flipping. I was hoping this thing could take at least a flip under its own weight.

Actually I will prob repair it and try to get out before I spend anymore. Look for it in the for sale section soon. Only has about 2 minutes runtime on it.

Yeah, do what I did to my Micro HR, Raminator tires and wheels! Makes it wider and more fun!

You can order a micro t chassis, but the micro-dt chassis is way better. You can fit a bigger battery and the longer wheelbase makes it handle better.

it will run with no mods but it might get hot. I thermaled geared high on carpet racing all-out with my heavy 610mah battery, you should be fine. If it becomes unresponsive until you turn it off then back on you know you thermalled.

I would recommend Cheap Guy's 460mah lipo "mod" on page 182 of this thred

My 610mah mod is on page 181. I recommend the 460mah lipo because I had to take away so much chassis that it ended up pretty weak and it was a pain to install/remove the battery. It is also heavier, to the point where it affects performance; mainly when jumping. It does help it stick to carpet better tho!

[link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5093026/mpage_181/key_/tm.htm]Page 181[/link]-Metallover's 610mah lipo mod (another option)

Runtimes are almost too long on 610mah, 460mah is more then enough. We both used rhino lipos from hobbycity (search on hobbycity for em). They are both 20c, iirc the losis are 10c. They are both dirt cheap. Make sure you have a charger to charge them. You can get a charger cheap on hobbycity (as in like 5-10 bucks) if you don't already have one. Keep in mind you will have to change the battery plug on the truck or the battery and probably the charger AND you may need a power supply/12v battery for your charger. For connectors mini deans would be great (best), but jst would probably work in a pinch. I used full size deans on mine.

You also need a low voltage cutoff. There are various solutions. The losi packs have a lvc built in. On hobbycity you can get a battery monitor thing like I did (look at pg 181) or you can even get a buzzer type thing. Do some more searchin!

I have a Micro T. I am thinking about getting another one so my girlfriend and friends can drive with me. Not sure if I should get a Micro T, DT, or Highroller. What do you guys think?

Get one with the extended chassis and consider one with threaded axles.

Ok, I'm new to RC cars in general and very new to micros, I just picked up a Micro T HighRoller off of Craigslist today. When I drive it indoors on a wood or concrete floor it does donuts if I punch the throttle. Is this normal? Should I adjust the slipper clutch looser? Is it spinning out because it is 2WD? Is this why people lock differentials? Do I need a different dif? Did I buy a broken car? I've got the steering trimmed so that it goes in a straight line, it's not that my front wheels are turned...

Thanks in advance for any responses. And yes I searched but I'm getting a million hits back.
