rc18mt esc overheating?
i just upgraded to a 7 cell ib 1400 pack and a trinity micro monster motor and im having trouble with the stock esc overheating. I asked on another forum and they said it should be fine but offered no explination as to why its overheating. i am running the stock 10/60gearing and deans connectors on the battery but not to the motor. do you think i should hardwire that? It is interfearing with my driving because it cuts out on thermal overload. The motor get pretty hot too. Is it not built for this setup or is there a problem with my connections or somthing. Any help would be nice. thanks

RE: rc18mt esc overheating?
My bad I guess I just read it a little too fast. You need to drop at least one tooth on your pinion, and see if that helps. If not try going down another tooth. Odds are the motor is overheating because it's overgeared, which is overhreating your ESC. No aftermarket brushed modified motor should be run without changing your gear ratio to adjust for the lower amount of torque they produce.
