about the air filter... unless you totally submerge the whole truck underwater, it should withstand abit of water since the air filter should have oil on it, and therefore repel water? also if a few drops of water soaked into the filter at a few spots (im assuming that air filters are just made of foam) , the air should flow past them and not push the water into the engine, if you want to be sure maybe you can mount the filter so that it faces downwards at the chassis, hence water should flow out of the filter, and that it isnt facing towards the direction of incoming drops of water... correct me if im wrong tho, i feel that i might be ignorant on everything nitro, dont plan on owning one because of little details such as this...
I will be running in the snow/ice so the air filter will probably get quite wet... I will find someway to run it.

I think my next purchase will be a nice new FM radio, and a two speed or metal diffs. So what should I get, two speed or metal diffs?
Any ideas?

Thanks. Sorry for all the questions... Got one more for you... How is the stock radio work (haven't got a chance to try it out yet)? Also is there anything wrong with the stock servos?

stock radio isnt half bad, but i use my hitec SRX for everything so mines collecting dust. servos could be a bit faster, bu they held up fine when it was working and didnt break in my little incident with a pickup truck lol

funny you could have skipped all those steps and just got the VTX truggy. 2-speed,all alloy, metal difs, more alloy..

to solve your air cleaner prob use a snorkel type

So how does the NEXT run I heard it was pretty nice. I only have a Chaos its great for a first Nitro and I am thinking in getting a NEXT or maybe a VTX Truggy. So about how fast is it 30mph? Is it Durable? would you guys recomend it for a second nitro.

@ dokioto: search for motor savers filter on tower hobbies and it will show up.

@ Matt: The Next and VTX cars are MUCH better than the chaos buggy that you have now. I would suggest you buy the VTX and upgrade the engine if you find it necessary (if it leaks, etc.)

Take a small childrens sock and cut off the elastic part. Use this to soak up and water or repel snow.

I don't know, the weather was -3F and today it is -20. I am looking for 20F. The LHS has been closed for the last couple of days so I still need to get some fuel..

I don't think this is going to fit on the stock filter...

the VTX truggy engine actually puts out a little more then the toki engines that are in the nt18 or the vulcans and chaos etc..

the good thing about VTX is that you get metal difs and a 2 speed right off the bat including more alloy for the same price if NOT EVEN CHEAPER and the NEXT AND THE VTX are identical!!!
