Default A few hop-ups installed...

I just got the chance to throw my hop-ups on my 18MT this evening. My sister got me some t/c tires and wheels for Christmas, but I had to order the adapters myself so I got a DP Drag Link, DP Delrin Wheel Adapters, Metal Servo Saver Rings and a BRP Front Bumper. I honestly didn't even have 5 minutes to drive it after installing everything as the wife and I are remodeling the kitchen and were bustin'our *****es since late morning. I JUST managed to squeeze in the time to hop-it-up and take some pix, making sure everything functions properly. If all goes well, I'll be ripping it up Monday, Tuesday the latest!

Check it out...

Yep. 2.2 They're actually the HPI SS for the Super Nitro as well as the Rally Tires. I didn't like the narrowness of the standard 2.2 t/c wheels and tires, so I compared some measurements and found that these would work well. As you can see, the width is maybe 1mm narrower than stock MTs, but the standard 2.2 1/10 t/c wheels and tires much narrower than that. It would've looked silly if I got those, like putting BMX bike tires on a skateboard! LoL

It's funny how a macro photo can make it look that bad! It really is clean to the naked eye. You can't see all that dust and stuff. I should've blown it off with my compressor before hand! LoL

No man. Between working doubles two days in a row and remodeling the kitchen, I'm kinda screwed. Soon enough bro, soon enough. I'm very anxious! I know it will be awesome...

I like the wheel and tire choice. I wonder where it came from? I think your car might be slower now and the servo migt burn out due to bigger tire size.

I've got a RC18B with these tires with different rims, I like it. do you run foams?
I skipped them and they work great and the wieght savings is enough to consider.
I'd like to get some really aggresive tires for my other 26mm rims also.

How does the dp steering link mount? Do you take out the pivot ball and put it in then or does it just slip over ball then the link pops on?

No I dont think that the servo would have problems with them, they seem very light.

Actually, you need to completely remove and discontinue using the stock linkage by removing the 2 phillips head screws that hold it in place. You then unscrew the tie rod ballstuds and screw them back into the large holes in the Drag Link. There were no instructions with it other than to go to the website for a how-to. I figured it out myself easily. This link shows a great close-up. it's self explanatory from there...

YES! Much older. I am 33 and had my niece take a picture of my eye for something and my "crow's feet" wrinkles in the corner of my eye looked horrible. I looked at least 10 years older. Macro photography isn't very flattering for certain applications. It really makes imperfections stand out...

Maybe it's because I was a smoker for a whole bunch of years. Just quit October 6, 2006, not a drag since. I smile a lot too and have 2 kids. I think a combo of smoking, smiling and stressing could have something to do with it.
Oh yeah, I've been working the graveyard shift for over 3 years now and average 4-5 hrs of sleep a day, so add that to the equation.[]
