Damage to MLST gears (photos).
I took my MLST out camping over the weekend. This was my first outdoor outing since I received the truck Christmas morning (I used it on the street in front of the house and in the school gymnasium a couple times). This is my first RC since I was about 12 years old (20 years ago [X(] ). When I got home I started cleaning the truck up. When I took off the upper gear box cover this is was I found:
and
I believe I know when this happened. I could hear a clicking sound that was proportional to the speed of the truck. I removed a stick and shook out some crushed granite "road-grade". It would appear that some of the granite made it's way into the gears. The truck seems to run fine. Can anyone see any problems with running these gears till they strip? This truck is bone stock!
