Default RE: rc18t,b,mt gallery- WHY NOT

Just installed the new 3Racing shocks, 3Racing titanium turnbuckles, 3Racing heat sink, Hitec HS-55 servo and 2 more ae diff shims on each outdrive. It's already been outfitted with Intellect IB1400 batts, a DP drag link, 1/10 tc HPI Super Star wheels and 1/10 HPI Super Nitro rally tires mounted on 12mm DP delrin wheel adapters. Eventually the diffs will be upgraded with MIP SuperDiffs and MIP CVDs will be installed. By then the stock motor should be dead and I'll either go brushless or just throw in a Reedy SP-19 Stump Puller.

I swapped the black 3Racing springs with the blue stockers for a more custom look. They seem to work nicely.

Sorry the pix are so huge.[X(] I don't know why it did that. I uploaded straight from my computer. It usually only does that when I grab them from Photobucket. Oh well, good pix though

I liked the way the blue springs looked too , but I thought they were a little too soft for the kind of jumping I was doing .

I wouldnt waste my time going with another brushed motor , the Mamba systems work great in the RC18's and really make the car fun to drive ....

BTW , A little tip for you abjones413 , get some 3/8 to 1/2 inch heat shrink tubing and cut some 3/8 slices and slip it over the shock end so it covers part of the spring and the spring clip , then shrink it down and it will keep the spring clips from popping off and getting lost ....

I found the Mamba on Ebay for half what my LHS is selling them for. I think I paid $100 and its the 8kv. The wheels and tires I bought from my local hobby. They are from an old Tamyia toyota 4 runner and they are pretty sweet, they used to say BF Goodrich in white but i beat them like a red headed stepchild. I also have the DP drag link which is essential with this motor and tire combo. I am happy I was actualy able to find a metalic green spray that is really close to the color of the mamba. The next body will have cleaner lines though as my black is brush on and bleeds threw all the tape. I'll have to get a can of spray black next time. Good thing the bodies don't last long...

zimm - Any hobby shop should have wheels/tires to mount on your ride. I assume you were referring to the 1/10 tc wheels? If so, yeah, easy enough to find. You will need 12mm hex adapters specific to your model though. If you were refering to 1/18 scale wheels/tires, that's another story. Most LHS don't stock them, at least in the North East (Massachusetts). I guess the minis haven't gained enough popularity over here yet.

FYI - thetoyz has a really cool selection of 1/10 tc wheel/tire combos. My sister ordered mine for me for Christmas before I knew about the ones available at thetoyz

All-Terrain - http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...6568&cat_name=
Street - http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...8091&cat_name=
DP Delrin Adapters - http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...7915&cat_name=
GPM aluminum adapters (if you like them better) - http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...6458&cat_name=

If a product is out of stock, e-mail or call RJ to get an idea of when he expects them - http://www.thetoyz.com/thetoyz_contactus.lasso

To those of you that are running brushless in the 18. Have any of you had problems with the ball diffs? Mine to do not stay tight. I have done everything to keep them tight but as soon as start turning faster laps they just slip. Any tips?
