My fustration with the Mini-T
I got a Mini-T for Christmas, and I figured I would help the little fella out with bearings and pinion gear.
Well bearings went fine. The problem is the pinion
I even bought the regular Losi pinion gears 1-15t and 1-13t I get the old one off easy enough, but these new ones will not go on. They are the slip on type with the set screw.
Please help me!!!!!!!!!

RE: My fustration with the Mini-T
Here are the part numbers
1613 for the 13T
and
1615 for the 15T
I am looking at the packages and I think they sold me the wrong ones. It says RC18T and I guess they are not Losi They are Robinson Racing pinions
Are these still supposed to fit or not ??
Now i don't have a car at all UUURRRGHHH

You might have to drill the hole a little bigger then hammer each on once so it expands. Oh also they should fit even if its for the RC18T.

LOL never hammer a pinion on. Pressing them on works but not pounding them. Bring them back and get new ones. Or get a different motor with the right shaft size.

RE: My fustration with the Mini-T
Here is what happened today.
I went and bought a BIGGER hammer.................lol.
Yes I did remove the screw etc... And no there is not a flat spot on the stock motor, there are knurls on the end so the stock plastic pinion gets bite to stay put.
Right after I posted this I call the shop that sold them to me. He says come on out. So I haul everything out there, and he says let's file the knurl off so the pinion will slide on. Well since it was the stock motor and he did not have any "mini T" pinions I agreed. If he would have had the correct pinion I would have demanded that we took a look at them.
So after the knurl was filed the slipped right on, also had to make a small flat on the shaft so the screw would stay put also, then it was off to the races lol (living room at home)
These pinions may fit other motors.. I do not know, All I have right now is the stock 280 motor.
So all said and done... she runs now. And quite fast with the 15T on there. And if I would have been more patient I suppose I could have ordered the normal mini T set and waited for the snail mail. But that would be no fun..

RE: My fustration with the Mini-T
One quick question on the Mini-T I also put a bearing set in the hubs and It acts as if the wheels won't seat or something. The rear is worse than the front. They seem to have play in and out. And all wheels have a slight wobble to them.
I know something must be wrong because I do not see why to put bearings in if they wobble worse than the bushings ??
