Which charger should I get?
I have a stock RC18T and plan on getting IB1400 6 cell packs pretty soon.
Does either do something the other can't? From what I have heard people seem to like them both, and I thought I would see which you guys think I should go with.

whats your budget? i use the multiplex multicharge. it goes for 75.00. the only downside to it is that it is 1 v input only. if you have a old computer power supply, you can make that into your benchtop power supply.

No, thats the 969, and the 969 charges Lipos incorrectly, so its not advisable to charge them with it.
I would say the Duratrax if your only doing nimh. Otherwise if you want a something with more features, the Dynamite Vision Peak Ultra can do Lipos as well if you plan on in the future.
Edit: Inverted, know someone whose lipo blew up on the 989. I simply would stay away from MRC for lipo charging.

I use the super brain 977 to charge my lipos and is just fine, I really like this charger because it can charge 2 batteries at the same time.

RE: Which charger should I get?
There's really no need to cycle with a charger. Sure, it's a nice feature to have, but if you just drive till the battery's dead then charge it, that's cycling. I suppose if you were racing you wouldn't get a chance to do that and you'd just swap packs as soon as they start to die. It all depends on your situation...
