RE: Battery building
You wioll need a good soldering iron (40-60watt) and some battery bars (to connect them) and some shrink wrap. I use standard rosin core solder for them. Make sure you use flux on every joint. Then you will also need 2 lengths of wire for each end. Make sure you heat the cell enough before trying to melt and attatch wire or bars. If you don't have enough heat it will not bond properly. Good luck! It's fun if you let it be.

From Cheapbatterypacks.com

Plug: Female Deans
Wire: 16AWG Wire
Also add the upgrade(they will ask you at the bottom of the custom build page)
And also add some spare deans male connectors for your charger and ESC.
Prices: Order total $29.70 ***NOTE*** they are currenty out of stock on male deans connectors so you would have to get those at a local hobby shop.

RE: Battery building
Deans are nice plugs and almost everyone runs them, powerpoles and bullet plugs are also lossless and nice but dont seem to be used as often, and I have only seen bullet plugs run once for a battery connection because they are easily reversed.

RE: Battery building
Deans are low resistance and capable of high current. This means that less enegery is lost when electricity is run through the plug compared to stock plugs and they have less chanche of overheating/melting.

RE: Battery building
you can go with either a 6-cell or 7-cell pack for your truck. Here are a couple of options:
6-Cell, IB1400: RACE61 (http://unitedrc.com/store/product.asp?BrandId=7&ID=179)
7-Cell, IB1400: RACE71 (http://unitedrc.com/store/product.asp?BrandId=7&ID=232)

Man I just trashed one of your batteries I've had for 2+ years. It was a 6 cell mini t pack I got a long time ago. Finally met it's demise. It was a good pack for quite a while. I only bashed with it but it took it very well.
