Hi,
Yes you can run a lipo in the stock Mini-T, But be careful as there is no Voltage cut off on the stock ESC. I ran a 800mah 3s lipo in my stock T for a long time I would just stop using as soon as you notice a drop off in speed and you should be all set. Best bet if running lipo's is upgrade your ESC. Most aftermarkets will have a voltage cut off to preserve your Lipo's

but isnt the esc and the reciever built into 1 unit on the mini t...

so if i wanted to upgrade the esc i would also have to replace the receiever (i guess i could go spectrum... ha)

if you are going to replace the ESC, I would recommend just getting a brushless combo, that is what I did, and as far as SPektrum receiver, it is the way to go since it like losi is a division of horizon hobby. I am using a Losi Excelorin 8200 kV with the Losi ESC, and had my mini DT pulling wheelies until the ESC burned up... that was a bit of a let down, but the upside was that Losi said to send it in and it would be replaced no questions asked, great support, and I know with the excelorin brushless you can get the Losi 3s lipo which is like 1300 or something mAh and have yourself a little rocket. the other bonus about the losi brushless system is that it is USB programmable, meaning you can fully tune your ESC using a windows computer. pretty cool setup so long as it doesn't catch fire.... Thank god Losi support rocks though!!!

nice...

I got a smoking deal on a 2S 2200mah 7.4v lipo and it just made this thing a rocket, plus the life time is amazing....

So far

Upgraded to a frenzy 370 brushed motor (stock from a Mini-LST)
and that lipo battery.
and a metal 10t pinion

lets just say i can hear parts starting to grind....
