i know that the differences between the mt and the t are minimal, pretty much tires, body and gearing. is there any major differences between the buggy and the truck besides the obvious?

Wheels, tires, body, gearing (?), shock towers, wing mount, wing. It's a pain to stuff everything under that buggy body...that's the only major difference.
