RC18R Niteline 4WD Onroad Touring Car
Associated has added a new body and RTR to its RC18R lineup. This time with a more sleek on-road touring car look.
The Niteline 18R packs big-time 4WD on road performance into a mini-sized package!
Based on the original RC18T platform, the 18R features an Associated Niteline body, 7-spoke wheels and optimized onroad suspension for superior handling and traction.
The 18R is powered by an inline-mounted “Super 370†high- performance motor, bolted to an aluminum motor mount with several mounting holes to fit most after-market 1:18 scale hop-up motors. The 18R transfers all the power to the ground with its efficient shaft-drive, 4WD power-train featuring adjustable front and rear ball differentials.
The 18R suspension absorbs all of the bumps in the road with oil-filled shocks for smooth and consistent dampening. The four lower suspension arms are symmetrical and work with the molded upper suspension links to insure that the 18R’s suspension geometry is optimum right out of the box.
Team Associated’s “XP†series electronics in the 18R are completely modular, allowing easy access to the receiver, steering servo, and the “XPS†electronic speed control with reverse.
If you’re looking for the ultimate mini-4WD onroad car with the big performance that will leave the competition in the dust, look
no further. Team Associated’s RC18R Niteline is the car you have been looking for!

Finally they made a good body for that thing. It looks awsome.

I think the only thing different from the RC18T are the Tires, Shock towers, Shock arms, and bodies, and maybe shocks but im not sure.

Hate to burst your bubble but its a bit more than that.
Tires/wheels
Body
Body posts
Shock Towers
Another set of front shocks because the rally uses Front T shocks all the way around
Turnbuckels/links
Dog bones/CVD's
Axle Stubs (t's are too long and will not tighten down R wheels)
Arms
You need all that to Convert. not cheap. roughly $60-70 to do it.

yea thanx. I knew that all those parts were needed from A-Teams site, and I've converted T-B. My LHS doesn't carry the parts for it yet, just the 18R RTR. Where did Kingofthehill get that picture? I checked A-team's site and I didn't see anything about it.

we should paint it like this
this is from nfs: carbon, maybe we can make it look just like the niteline using the body sculpting system in that game?

ooh yeah im getting them messed up with the mini z's , they are 1/24
small wonders, indeed hehehe
cool so we have a nice 1/18 onroad scene going on here then, i was thinking maybe you could have like a race with the electrics and the xray nt18's together or any other 1/18 nitro onroads... but anyway
im looking at this body , and im thinking can rc18's drift?
or can you take the body off and use it on another 1/18 onroad?

Nope.. not even close..
we sell both of these at the shop i work at and they are worlds different. somehow they are both classified as 1/18th scale, but no way is the Micro RS4 body gonna fit on an associated RC18R

Untrue, the RC18R is much wider and uses disproportionate tires compared to micro 1/18th touring sedans on the market. Totally separate class/feel. The RC18R is based around a short track width 1/18th truck, it really is somewhat of its "own" scale/proportions and technically not really 1/18th.

RE: **NEW** RC18 Onroad
Anyone have opinions on Duratrax's Vendetta Rally and a RC18R?
I am thinking of getting into the mini scene racing in my garage with my girl and buying both. Or two of the same ones. Looking at 1/18 scale and up for the space I am running it in.
50' x 20'
I am new to minis so I have no idea on any of these. Can I fit a standard 6 cell NiMH into one of these?
