I dont have a micro-t yet but I would like to get one and setup a track in an extra bedroom. I am thinking build it on 2 4x8 plywood sheets. would an 8x8 track be big enough? It is hard for me to visualize. I have a rc18 and there is no way it would be even close for a car of this size. could the micro handle it well?

I am thinking of using pipe insulation as track walls and the thinnest carpet possible for the surface, and use cardboard or pegboard for the jumps.
How wide should the lane be?

if all goes well I would like to get 4 micros and have races.

i think 8x8 would be too small. i have a 14x14 track and a pretty simple layout, but w/ 4-5 cars on it, its just ridiculous.

being a bit more realistic it would probably be 3 cars max. but from what you are saying 8x8 would still be too small. I think the max I could afford would be 10x8. Is it just not worth doing at that size?

actually now that i think about it, im not using all of the room. maybe 10x10 of it...

Just get some 1/2 inch pvc pipe and fittings, some cardboard and some extra carpet and make a carpet track.

Probably won't cost more then 100$.

Will look nice if you spend some time on it, you would probably need wood if you were making a 1/18 scale track, but cardboard will work fine for jumps, step-ups and stuff, because the micro-T is so light. hell you could even make bridges or whatever over the track. And the best thing is, if you got bored of the layout you can just change it.

oh ok. atomic has 6 2x2 squares for i think 25 bux. lmc.... yup, 25 bux. kinda expensive. I would just get that artificial grass stuff or really low carpet and make a track, a lot cheaper!

Hey guys I have seen this type of mat at OfficeMax for cheaper but cant find a link to it from there website. Just a headsup. I used grey outdoor carpet for mine.

I have a 8x8 area and I need some help on making up a layout all of mine are not that good IMO they just don't flow right. Also how wide should my lanes be, I'm going to look at some of that outdoor carpet for my track.

I've been using 2 foot lanes and they seam good, but I worried that once my friend gets one the track is going to be crowded there is going to be 3 max so I hope that 2 feet will be enough or will I have to use 3?

I just got my micro t last night. I taped off 2 ft lanes on mine. Its pretty difficult to run, it might be too complex, that or i just need practice driving.

i think you should make the track the full 10x10 and about 3 foot lanes...even stock these little miocros are pretty fast

on a groomed track so they wont get as dirty...i means just slap on your gear case and blammo your ready to hit the dirt...they are very easy to clean as of all you need is those spray cans thingies for computer keyboards...all the dirt just flies off...
