Australian spare parts availability - Kyosho, Duratrax or XRay?
Hi, I will be moving back to Australia soon from Canada. I have been here a few years and completely spoiled for choice from online stores.
I am currently looking for a new 4wd 1/18 machine but figure I should check on availability of parts in Australia.
Which do you think of the following would have the best parts availability in Australia:
Kyosho Mini Inferno
Duratrax Vendetta ST
XRay M18T
I would be happy with any of them but getting parts will be the killer in Australia.

Well, none of them have easily accessable parts in AUS. Especially the Xray and the 'Detta.
www.modelflight.com.au has a few mini's (BTW they,re my LHS) and a stack of spares and hop-ups. Look in there losi secion.

Well that is no good. Seems to be some Associated stuff around but not much in the 1/18th scale.
Looks like a fair bit of Losi around so the sensible option might be a Losi MLST.
Cusom Model Cars does seem to be the Xray distributer but they don't list any dealers which is not very helpful. I haven't come across any Xray dealers either.

Yeh, Losi and AE are your best bet.
If you want to get a 1/18 abd go BL, i wouldnt suggest the MLST2. The MLST2 is more, IMO, suited to more powerfull dual brushed motors, BL doesnt work that well in the larger heavier trucks.
If you want to go BL and want speed and some great fun, i would deffinitly suggest getting the mini baja. You can also get alot of spares, motors, batterys and hop-ups off of flea...i mean ebay.

I think your best bet is to use RCMart or Dinball(RCMart's eBay store). They are over seas, but have low shipping costs and quick shipping.
I use them all the time for my Inferno.

Thanks nitro_burner, I actually have a Mini-Baja pretty maxed out. Not much on there from Losi any more...

Already having a Losi car I was looking for something different. I had been scouting the used cars online to pick up a roller so I could drop in a BL setup. I already have a good radio. That is when I started to think about getting spares in Australia though...there is no problem while I am in Canada.

After a bit more searching there does seem to be stuff for Kyosho and Duratrax but very little in the 1/18th scale.
