Understand, your not seeing the ESC. It will be a sensored system as a whole, so while you could use the motor on a non sensored system, it will work the best with the Novak ESC.

I wonder how it will compare to the mamba in speed and price.

I posted about this a few months ago, I also wonder what price will be like. It needs to be under or around $130 IMO to start off good.

what do you mean we are seeing the motor only? It sure looks to me like it's plugged into a unitized electronics package (servo, ESC, Rec all together) I certainly don't like that, and what's up with the wimpy little wires......I'll pass

No, go to the site, that motor is sitting and unattached alone with a Spectrum Micro receiver in front of it. The other pictures will make it more apparent

The wimpy little wires are for the sensor plug. Thats not the wire going to the esc.

Here is a webpage to help you out Dogbreath..

Yes mini_me I do understand the esc is not pictured. I also checked this out on their website. I just wish they would give a projected date for the release. Im sure they will be sold with the esc. As for price, who knows. Id be willing to pay 150 for the system.

So it will do 33 in a MI with stock gearing and 2 cell lipo. I wonder how it would do in a Vendetta with the same battery or even a 3 cell.

Don't count on the video, it most likely is a fake that some idiots made for fun.

Umm, no. Thats a Novak employee in that video, and the Novak rep at a different site even references that video as a first test run (with stock Mini Inferno gearing/setup).

Ok, well I didn't want to rely on the video too much becuase it could have been fake.

well if the motor is truly a 380 (28mm) can then this system would be perfect for the vendetta,,, it will also depend on shaft size,,,
and kv....

shaft size is 2mm as of now, and they may or may not release a 2.3mm version (according to novak)

I think they should release a 3.2 or a coupler to such. That way all vehicles could work (1/10th pinions which are easier to find anyways). While Im thinking about it...

If that can push a MI that fast I'm guessing that it would be good for the Detta if they made it with the right shaft size. I wonder when there going to tell the price and show some more pictures mostly of the esc.

Mark my words, these will be hot. Even the doubters and die hard mamba owners will end up with one and they will love it. If there is anyplace where low end drivability is needed, its in the minis.

Some of the posters here probably know as much, or more, than I do about the upcoming 1/18th system.

I heard that the cases, water-resistant gaskets, and heat sink prototypes will be in house in the next 10 days/2 weeks or so. Once we have a cased version of the esc, maybe we can post a photo to the web site.

As for price and release date, that info has not yet been determined. The "street" price will be competitive with items currently available, but this is not a cheap system----no Chinese motors bundled to keep the prices low.

Thats what I was referring to, as long as the price is competitive and reasonable I will definately hope to pick one up. As for the motors... sintered rotor possibility..?

Amen to that. No non rebuildable motors held together with crimping and glue with weak magnetic fields.

We are paying 120 dollars up to 135 dollars for the mamba,s, I would gladly give up to and maybe more than 200 dollars for a sensored novak system. I cannot wait, its like i am 10 years old on christmas morning and they are making me wait till after dinner to open gifts. When can we pre-order.
