Antenna placement
I have a RC18MT and the antenna tube doesn't last more than two runs, where it bends it gets kinked and stays bent, pinching the antenna in the process. Never had this problem on my 1/10 scale vehicles, have no idea why. But here's two possible solutions, one is get the internal wrap to keep the antenna inside the body. Or I could have an antenna tube, but have it bent to stick out the back window, it would end up being horizontal, but at least it would be outside the body. What kind of reception would I get from the internal mod?

Like make an extra cushion area? Basically slip some fuel line around the antenna tube at the point of the kink, which is of course where the body is. Is fuel line that hard? I can't imagine some fuel line keeping the antenna tube from bending that much unless it's rigid.

Bump, so I'm still considering putting a hole in the rear window to have the antenna exit at an angle so when it lands upside down, it won't land on the antenna and eventually snap the tube. I don't think I'll loose too much reception this way... any other opinions before I hack into this once new body?

RE: Antenna placement
bent the tube down and out of the car, that should help some, prob the small size of the car + big antenna tube = possibility for bending..., that would be cool to coil the wire underneath the top of the body, leaving enough to safely remove it... try out different ideas, all areas are different with the interference... if you are racing only (like not that far away from your car) then keeping it coiled underneath shouldn't be a problem. if you plan to be a large distance away, then make it more like a bendy tube dealie, if ya get what I mean[8D]

RE: Antenna placement
Run it out the back? Like more back than what I have it now? The back window looks like the most viable placement without getting in the way too much. I may be able to run it between/through the rear shock tower and out the actual back, but I think in some instances that may get in the way. I'd love to keep it coiled up underneath the body, but I do go long distances with it and I'm afraid I'll loose reception.

RE: Antenna placement
I know that my BCX had the antenna inside the body, but that was prob designed for short range flights, I dunno, maybe it would work, try making your own and testing it out first before purchasing one
