Default 1/16 VTX Wear Issues?

Hey looking at getting a VTX 1/16 nitro truggy. Was all set to order one when a guy I know said to avoid them as their diffs and gears wear out very fast. He had the buggy and said after 2 litres he had to replace the rear gears and the spur as it was worn away, the replacements didn't last much longer. A few other forums ppl have complained about this although the posts are a few months old and maybe Team VTX have addressed it, or the truggy has better quality parts?
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this?

We have addressed the problem with the diff gears, optional ones should be available soon, also 2 liters of fuel is actually a lot of fuel for a .06 engine, considering it will run between 7 to 10 minutes on a 38cc tank. We also have new hardend steel spurs and clutchbells available.

Thanks,

You shouldn't be disappointed picking one up.. It is a little higher quality then the Trinity NEXT (if you have seen one)..

One thing about Team VTX- There customer support is top notch. They help you out with everything and as you can see they even have a rep here on RCU

Do you know when the optional diff gears will be available? My truggy is sitting waiting for them and I would rather wait for the optional ones then buy another set of the stock diff gears. Thanks.

There is a good deal on eBay (that’s if you don’t get into a bidding war) that ends in 12hrs; just type in VTX and look in the radio control category. If not they always seem to have them on there for $225 shipped. However, you should (if your patient) be able to get it for less then $200 shipped off of eBay.
