Default RC18 & 7C Packs

after installing a dp spur cover it was impossible for my 7C pack to fit (arranged in this order - ===| ), so i was going to dremel the cover to fit. after taking it all apart, there is no way i can get it to fit w/ the cover as there is chassis flex without the cover in - the 7C pack is too long. anybody else have this problem? are all the 7C packs extremely tight in a RC18?

Pretty much. especially with that gear cover.
Consider moving one of the cells to the top of the packif you want 7cells and wanna stick to nimh.

I saw a site moved the 7th cell to the top of the pack, and made a notch in the strap for it[8D]

without the gear cover... a 7 cell will still fit in a flat arrangement right?

that pic is of a 7C ===| setup pac and there is stress - i am sure w/ all the items together the flex would be the battery wire but it is very tight. i am a bit bummed that people make the 7C packs in the ===| config for the 18t/mt as this is stressing it.....definitely going w/ the arrangement w/ the one cell on top when i buy my next pack.

My 7 cell pack is tight but it does fit without flexing or needing mods to the strap. I bought an intellect pack and it had a plastic cap at the end where the wire comes out, that didn't fit so I had to cut it off and retape the cells up. If yours is to tight to get the strap on you can raise one of the hold down screws and loop the strap around the threads and that will give you another 1/16th" or so.
