Default new to the game

getting a mini quake and looking at a motor with 4000kv & 200w output with a 40 amp esc, would this combo be alright for some speed and decent torque? not looking to spend $200 on the mamba....

It will be as long as the motor has the correct shaft size (2.3mm or 3.2mm) and the esc is meant for a car/truck. I've never heard of a 40amp car/truck esc unless its a no-name chinese esc. If its a plane or heli esc, I don't suggest using it.

Btw, the 1/18th scale mamba set-up is only $100. You're probably thinking of a mamba max...which is for 1/10th scales. Although the mamba motors are not good for the MQ (too small), the mamba 25 esc is a great choice.

ok, easy way to rember the diff,
Mamba Max = BIG TRUCKS
Mamba (Comp, Comp X...), = SMALL TRUCKS (aka, what you have)
Hope that helps, now if only they made it easier

that's just the esc.... the motor's have the designation: CM20XX

- CM = Castle Motor
- 20 = can diameter of 20mm
- XX = the Kv of the motor. So a 6800kv = CM2068.
