Losi Micro-T with Losi Lipo and Xcelorin Brushless Setup
Yo all,
Just built up a Micro-T brushless setup. Pic included (I hope).
Got a question. The Xcelorin ESC has a lipo low voltage cutoff. So does the Losi 180mah lipo. Should I/has anyone removed the lvc from the battery, since the ESC will handle that function?
Also, when using the Losi aluminum, the rear shock tower only has a small cutout which makes routing the motor wires pretty tricky. You can't do like the instructions show for the stock shock tower. I found it worked better to cross over the the other side after going through the opening. And if you mount the ESC opposite the instructions, the wire lenghts are better matched. Also stuff a bit of the battery wire into the battery compartment where the switch was to take up some slack. The final wiring looks a little neater that way. Also, don't be fooled by the first pic of the steering servo with the servo saver mounted in the instructions. Its upside down from how it should fit. No sweat thought, just flip it around. No need to unscrew it.
Any suggestions on the lipo lvc?
Thanks!

I just run mine as is... if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Think of it as double-redundant backup safety protection. High tech stuff

is it true you need all new servo and radio and receiver to go the brushless systems.....i would like to convert mine too.......but i've read you need to change the stock radio and servo out.....

yes you have to
the stock is an integrated esc/receiver
so u remove the esc u remove the reciever
so u need the receiver
the servo uses a 5wire lead
the new receiver takes a 3 wire (no receivers take 5 wire)
so u need new servo

IMO
i would never ever ever
put a brushless and lipo on my micro
i mean seriously
the reason most of us got it was to have a little fun car
for INDOORS (i think well i surely got it for that)
lipo is fine but once u add the brushless
you will be gettin speeds of 25-30mph
so im pretty sure no1 can run it indoors @ full potential
