I dunno if this question has already been answered, but i just finished my FT kit and i think i left my diff gears a little too loose, does anybody have any idea about the force it should take to turn them, as i think the manual is unclear.

the diffs should be at around 1/2 a turn out from dead tight[8D]

Do you have a RC18?
Because that's way looser than the factory-recommended 1/8 to 1/4 turn.

regular stock rubbers foams don't go "bald" they just get chewed up by the asphalt depending on the foam type....

hello all this is my first post on this thread. i am out in iraq and posted a poll earlier for your guys help on a mini, after the results were in i eneded up getting a rc18MT, i hope this thing is a great as you guys say in these threads. so this is my order (below) it's going to take a while to get here since it's going to go through military mail and i'm in the middle of nowhere.
Products

1 x Racer's Edge Super Sport 6 Cell NiCD 1500Mah Battery (RCESS1500) = $9.99
2 x ProTek R/C NiMH AA Loose Battery Cells (4) (1.2V/2500mAh) (PTK-NM-AA2500) = $19.98
1 x Team Associated RC18MT Mini 4wd RTR Electric Monster Truck (ASC20110) = $154.99
1 x Pro-Line Premium Blend CA Tire Glue (Medium, 15-20 sec) (PRO600502) = $8.25
2 x Team Losi Silicone Shock Oil (40wt) (2oz) (LOSA5226) = $7.58
1 x Team Losi Tread Lock Medium CA Tire Glue (Blue) (LOSA7880) = $7.75
1 x ProTek R/C NiMH AA/AAA 4-cell AC Quick Charger w/LCD Display (PTK-NM-AACHARGE) = $14.99

i was trying to think of things i would need out here with not going over budget, shipping was $60 alone so.

??????
what else shuold i get to make sure this thing runs a while out here (under budget)?
is the battery i got going to work with this car?, my wife is sending my charger out here for it.
if i was to start hop ups what should be priority to keep it running cause after this my son (2 now) while be playing with it, he is not to bad when i let him drive my Turmoil so i think he can handel it.

thanks guys i hope this thing gets here soon!

Hopefully this isn't a double post but I thought I would add in a word of my own on the differentials. I use the mid-level mamba system and I have shredded the outdrives as I assume many of us have. I am considering upgrading to the MIP Differential setup ([link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKBC2&P=ML]Tower Hobbies link[/link]). Has anybody run this? Any problems with this particular item or any different recommendations?

IMO the stuff you need for the 18MT is:
Another battery is nice, the stock 1100 can last a LONG time on a charge $20 (ish)
Different battery charger (team losi mini peak is nice) $20
DP GEAR COVER IS A MUST (considering iraq can be DUSY from what i see on TV)
DP Draglink is nice to have for the car (take out some of the PAIN IN THE REAR steering slop)
RPM wide bumper's rly nice, protects the front end of the car
as for the CA i can't think of any problems that you could have with tires loosing glue...
shock oil is a must, 45WT works great (stocks like 30, IMO kindof soft)
batteries for transmitter
and diff shims (1 pkg)
thats all i can think of, if you got any more q's feel free to PM me with em[8D]

definately, plus you never know what may happen to the shipment... well, best of luck getting it and say safe (maybe you can use it in place of the packbot when you have to search a building... )

the parts for the 18T and the 18MT are the same the only difference is the shell and tires between the 2 cars[8D]

could be the motor
could be the esc
could be that you've moved the throttle trim on your radio
could be you need to reset the esc
could be the receiver
could be a lot of things

sounds like a voltage drop maybe?? the sudden max throttle draws too hard on the batt? or maybe the ESC is shutting down because it's overloaded.. hrm.. just some guessing. I think trying to reset the ESC (as said above) would be a good start..

sounds to me like the battery, i will have that happen to me when i try and get the truck to move from a dead stop (when the battery is getting low), it will move slightly, and then "die", if i more slowly ramp the power though, its fine[8D], that seems to be your problem
